www.zalando.co.uk/geox-gardenia-wedge-sandals-cream-ge111a0v7-b11.html
they're even uglier in person and I think I might keep them...

I was after platform sandals to wear with black trousers that reach the floor.

Height and comfort are important to me, and it seems in this instance they might go above style. I haven't found anything that's at least 3" (around 7cm) height, that also offers this level of comfort. These sandals are seriously comfortable which I am not sure I'll get from other brands' offerings.

I came across them whilst considering the equally ugly Nike platform sandals: www.nike.com/gb/t/icon-classic-sandals-VNCTCn/DH0223-600

I don't know what I am asking for here. Save me from myself? Suggest more palatable options (same comfort and height please)? Opinions?

Christ almighty, they are fucking ugly

I like the first ones! They do look really comfortable. Socofy are my go-to for comfort now, but admittedly they're not to everyone's taste, I'm known for my unique shoes.

I have these by Skechers and they are beyond a shadow of a doubt the most comfortable shoes I have ever ever worn.
And they are lovely to look at.

They look comfy and trendy, wear them with pride. Confidence is everything!

You can get the Fitflop Eloise style with leather wedge heel. I just bought a pair in black. They also come in other colours.

When I click on your link all I get is the espadrille wedges. I love them, just not what I want right now.

OP posts:
KittytheHare · 05/06/2022 12:35

Yes they are espadrille wedges, but the wedge part is actually waterproof, not traditional espadrille straw/cork whatever.

tkwal · 05/06/2022 09:48

I prefer the first pair and think go for comfort, especially since they will be hidden by your trousers, which overall will have the appearance of lengthening your legs.Im not saying you NEED to keep them concealed by the way. Have seen similar being worn with pretty mid/maxi dresses

Keeping them concealed is an excellent idea. They are hideous.

stevalnamechanger · 05/06/2022 12:44

I think if they are under the trouser they are fine

KimikosNightmare · 05/06/2022 12:47

That's hideous too. They look really cheap and nasty.

worriedaboutmoney2022 · 05/06/2022 12:48

Omg neither
Get some trousers you won't fall arse over tit on and some nicer shoes 😂

Crunchymum · 05/06/2022 13:23

These are the comfiest shoes I've ever owned (arthritis means I have to got for comfort over style) but I always get complimented on them

I have bought these monstruosities...

They both scream 'trendy' nan.

This made me laugh out loud! Thanks @ElenaSt 🤣😂

I had a sharp intake of breath/gasp at those socofy sandals/mules.
I entered a portal.

No I don't want my trousers shortened, I want that sort of look.

The word "whacky" or however you want to spell it today gives me the ick, as do people who say they wear stuff for the "look". It's too try hard. It means you aren't wearing the shoes, they are wearing you. Don't do it.

isthismylifenow · 05/06/2022 14:56

I like them OP.

I have seen far worse sandals suggested here the past few weeks.

Not sure I understand your point. Don't we all try to achieve a look we feel is good for us? In my case, longer trousers over platform shoes gives me a bit of height and elongates my legs, and it suits me. I get the 'those are horrid, don't do it' comments, but I don't get yours.

Keep them. I think there is something about them and you say they are crazy comfortable.

I noticed on the website there were suggestions of similar chunky sandals but I think your pair looks the best.

If they are comfortable you will rock it!

Who are you trying to impress? Just wear it for yourself, not how it'll look for others. If you don't understand what I'm saying, that's all good, but no, we don't all try to achieve a "look". It's a bit like people who wear biker jackets but who have never been near a bike. Really silly. Wear what you want, own it, and don't seek validation from others either in real life or the internet. 🙄

@SpikyToad, WTF????

Anyway OP, I quite like them, although I am well known amongst my friends for liking clumpy shoes. Wear them with pride if they're right for you!!
