Where do women buy + sell clothes these days? eBay, Vinted?

I have a huge pile of good quality clothes to sell. In my day, I sold them on Ebay. Is that still the place for this kind of thing? Or is it Vinted now?

Facebook groups mainly, especially groups for specific brands and styles etc.

BiscoffSundae · 02/06/2022 14:40

Vinted for me. I wouldn’t buy off Facebook as I like things to be delivered haven’t got time to collect

Sockpile · 02/06/2022 14:41

My DDs sell on Depop

Everything I've bought and sold on FB has been delivered in the post as usual. Just means a huge cut doesn't go to eBay in fees.

BiscoffSundae · 02/06/2022 14:53

Oh ok I like the protection other sites offer if item isn’t as described etc

PeachMelba78 · 02/06/2022 21:13

Vinted 100%!

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 03/06/2022 09:53

Depop here for buying and selling.

Lookingoutside · 03/06/2022 10:08

On Vinted, do you have to build up relationships with potential buyers and show yourself to be a reliable seller?

I also have a pile of stuff ready to go.

gracielooloo · 03/06/2022 12:21

@Lookingoutside i don’t think so, I’ve had a bit of success selling things and only joined about a month ago.
I price things fairly cheap but enough so I’m prepared to accept offers when people make them.
I’ve made around £150 which I’m happy with as normally I’d just send it to the charity shop.

MakeUpFree · 03/06/2022 12:52

I like Vinted. Never use ebay anymore. Haven't tried depop

RosieRainbow1986 · 03/06/2022 12:56

Vinted! I've sold 11 things since Monday and it's so easy to use! I do sell things relatively cheaply, even new, branded clothes - I'd rather they go to someone otherwise I'd end up taking them to the tip!

Susurrar · 03/06/2022 12:56

Vinted. I have bought and sold loads. Anything that I’ve bought and don’t like, I sell on immediately. No stupid fees, very easy process, I’m definitely a fan.

Charity shops sometimes collect if you can't drop off yourself.

schmalex · 03/06/2022 15:23

Vinted or Vestiaire Collective for more high-end stuff.

Does mean charity shops are losing out though

DreamloverTealover · 03/06/2022 16:18

I really like Vinted but haven't tried anything else. As someone has said before, you don't make as much per item but it's just so easy and a few pounds here and there soon adds up!!

@Lookingoutside you don't have to build relationships (some don't even communicate with me as a buyer or a seller!) but I always like to send a message when I've sent something. There's a chat function which is really good for asking questions.

Lookingoutside · 03/06/2022 17:38

@DreamloverTealover @gracielooloo

Thanks both. I might list some stuff tonight x

SpeedofaSloth · 03/06/2022 17:40

I prefer Vinted to eBay. I know what I will actually receive in payment, maim reason.

MrsFionaCharming · 03/06/2022 21:59

As a buyer I much prefer Vinted. I used to use eBay a lot, but it’s so flooded now with cheap fast fashion from China rather than good quality second hand.

Thrift is good too! They send you a bag , you fill it and they sort and sell it .
you get money, so do they and so does charity!

sunnyside238 · 21/07/2022 23:30

vinted

Thebritisharecoming · 22/07/2022 07:56

Vinted. It’s just so easy to do, sell things at reasonable prices and they go fairly quickly. I like that my balance increases and it gives me money to spend buying from there.
