Are these shoes hideous?

I'm after some shoes for work that are going to be supportive, and go with tapered trousers, knee-length dresses worn with bare legs in summer and just below knee-length dresses with black tights in the winter. I would usually wear ballet flats but feel like they're ruining my feet and posture.

I found these which I thought might at least do for with trousers/summer but not sure if they're fugly?

If they are can anyone recommend something that would fit the brief?

Are these shoes hideous?

I like them. I hate “ballet” flats, I think they are very unflattering for women who don’t have thin legs and small narrow feet, and yes they are terrible for your feet and posture.

Be thankful the website is so dodgy. Shoes shamelessly frightful.

Ecco in Tk maxx for half the price.

TK Maxx online has tonnes of leather shoes under £40.

Not keen on the one's you're considering op - they look like leather espadrilles. The model in the pic is wearing them with jeans.

They will age you by at least 40 years imo.

I like them!

Have a look at M&S? these look quite nice for £49.50. Didn’t have a thorough look, so there might be more

Verbena87 · 23/05/2022 22:56

Brogues? I wear them with bare legs and dresses as well and feel a bit 1940s geography mistress but I rather like it 😂.

WouldBeGood · 23/05/2022 22:58

@Verbena87 i like that look, but with my sturdy legs I’d be more Miss Trunchbull 🤣

CorsicaDreaming · 23/05/2022 23:03

I like them OP!
I must be a boffin as a PP said 🤓

£390 for trainers 😱 and trainers are definitely a no-go with our works dress code policy

There are some truly hideous shoes on Golden Goose. These are non- descript rather than truly hideous.

Try Schuropody. They sell shoes that are foot friendly. They have some black Mary Jane shoes for £40.

TreesAtSea · 24/05/2022 12:53

I'd recommend Shuropody too: lots of different ranges and some very well-priced, especially when they're having a sale. Also, how about Pavers or Clarks Outlet? Deichmann too can have comfy leather (if that's important) shoes. I've found some really good stuff in all these places for around the £25-£30 mark.
