Are these shoes hideous?

I'm after some shoes for work that are going to be supportive, and go with tapered trousers, knee-length dresses worn with bare legs in summer and just below knee-length dresses with black tights in the winter. I would usually wear ballet flats but feel like they're ruining my feet and posture.

I found these which I thought might at least do for with trousers/summer but not sure if they're fugly?

If they are can anyone recommend something that would fit the brief?

I really like them but a) I'm never sure about ordering off these kind of websites and b) they don't say leather so I'm guessing they're NOT leather.
But damn I'm tempted. I like the green ones.
Anyone bought them?

catscatscatseverywhere · 23/05/2022 11:22

I wouldn't call them hideous, but they aren't pretty too...

ElenaSt · 23/05/2022 11:23

I'm old and I wouldn't want to be buried in them.

Cottagepieandpeas · 23/05/2022 11:33

I quite like them and as it's almost impossible for me to get sandals because of my massively wide feet they might be ideal!

Shellingbynight · 23/05/2022 11:37

OP, I'm 65 and I wouldn't wear those shoes - sorry!

I agree that ballet flats are bad for your feet/posture.

M&S have a wide range of flat summery shoes within your budget (including ballet type pumps with a strap and proper sole).

For anyone in the UK who may be thinking of ordering them (like I was) it's a US company who it seems ship from there. So even though they offer free shipping, it's possible customs duties may be payable at the UK end. I could be wrong, though...

Cottagepieandpeas · 23/05/2022 12:50

Dreadful reviews on Trustpilot! I would avoid.

andtheycalledthewindmoriah · 23/05/2022 13:01

I actually think they look nice and smart

LibertineCapsAndCowboyChaps · 23/05/2022 13:10

OnFoot are absolutely brilliant, the comfiest shoes I've ever owned in my entire life. I bought my husband a work pair and a leisure pair and the first day he came home from work he asked me to order another 2 pairs of the same shoe as they are so comfy. He actually ditched his faithful old Dr martens and I was a bit 😲. I've got several pairs in various colours and styles and love them to bits. Lottie a attik do them and eBay is always pretty cheap for last season styles.

KangarooKenny · 23/05/2022 13:11

They’re fine for work.
I get my work shoes from Clark’s, and the uglier they are the more comfortable they are .

Yes actually, taking a second look the website does look a bit dodgy!

Not keen on those ones, but you're absolutely right in that ballet flats are shocking for your feet, legs and posture.

BusterGonad · 23/05/2022 14:45

I'm sure you could find some nicer ones from Hotter or somewhere.

heldinadream · 23/05/2022 18:07

Hotter yes but nearly three times the price and OP says her budget is max £40.

JaneJeffer · 23/05/2022 18:46

I like them.

Great was just going to come into say they look dodgy, I always think you can tell of the same image is on multiple sites.

Sickoffamilydrama · 23/05/2022 19:04

If you can save, stretch your budget or get them in the sale Ecco shoes are very comfortable.

Sorry. I didn't realise

EdithGrantham · 23/05/2022 21:09

No worries, I really need to start putting money aside for shoes because I do tend to end up buying cheap.

Sickoffamilydrama · 23/05/2022 21:54

It's difficult though I know @EdithGrantham if you have a limited budget, I'm lucky enough now to be able to buy more expensive shoes not Louboutin but then they never look that comfy anyway.

I always like Terry Pratchett's economic theory about boots.

Trousers! 😩

Supersimkin2 · 23/05/2022 22:03

Be thankful the website is so dodgy. Shoes shamelessly frightful.

Ecco in Tk maxx for half the price.
