Which one would a 16 year old girl like best?

Return to Tiffany one. The other one looks like you could have picked it up in Elizabeth Duke in 2010. Not worth £330 of anyones money if it's not instantly identifiable as a designer piece!

It is clearly marked Tiffany on the back, and people who know about Tiffany would recognise. But hey, a thing is only worth having if everyone instantly knows how expensive it is, right?

Price =/= taste. Or value.

Open heart, timeless and classic, she will be able to wear it anywhere and on any occasion.

For all the negative moans, the OP didn’t ask if you thought the necklaces were tat or if better could be found in Claire’s, etc. She asked which necklace out of two would a 16 year old prefer.

Heart design is done to death and tag one is just tacky ….keep looking is my advice

There was a recent thread where the OP was looking at the Pink Heart pendant for her DD ( and yes lots of similar comments to the ones on here )

I asked my DD ( 19yo) she said the Double Tag one but she preferrred the pnik or the red to the blue .

Has your DD asked for this pendant ? (My DD likes her labels , I know some things she's happy with Primark/UO/TopShop . Other things she likes the label loud'n'proud .

The double-tag one ( according to DD) is instantly recognisable as Tiffany .

Some items are only available online OP , if you plan to go to the shop.

I think the second one. The first one was popular years ago, think it’s a bit over now. What a lucky girl!

I popped out this afternoon and bought her the blue double tag on the basis that most feedback suggests that teens would prefer that option and I wanted her to have something to open on her birthday.

It has a gift receipt so I can take her to the shop to exchange if she wants.

The blue is only on one side so can be worn as double silver hearts.

Thanks for the helpful posts

Lovely choice OP - I'm sure she'll be thrilled with it, I think that one is perfect for a teen.

I was wearing my Elsa perreti starfish necklace today. Timeless

I think you chose well. Hope your daughter loves it.

I'm shocked by the price increases too. I thought I was imagining things. Years ago when I was in a different financial situation I looked at buying one of these necklaces and I am SURE it was £120! It was probably the cheapest one but this would've been in 2015. I'm sure it was either a pink or blue tiny heart as I remember trying to decide between them (not the double tag but maybe just the enamel one on its own). Am I going mad?

PS for someone who is 16, I definitely think the double heart necklace is a brilliant choice :)

DD has the second one in all silver. She had wanted it for nearly 2 years (similar age to your DD) and I didn't think she would get the use out of it so resisted but she's had it 18 months and wears it as much as she is able to inc school on days she doesn't have sport.

I got a similar necklace as the first one when I was about 13 - a cheaper version! I liked it a lot but by 16 had outgrown the style.

I got a Swarovski necklace similar to the heart of the ocean necklace in Titanic ( not as big 😁 but I still love it and wear it today - it was a little more grown up)

What a lovely birthday present. Id go second one. At 16 it's the one id have preferred

Good choice, that is definitely the one most teens prefer. I had the open heart 25 years ago and don't wear anything so dull now so it wasn't a lasting investment for me.

I got a classic return to tiffany bracelet at about 17 wore it for about a year then decided it was over branded but kept it because of sentiment. I would get the first for longevity in terms of wear.

The first one is redolent of Pandora. Hard no. At least the second is unmistakably Tiffany.

We bought the double tag one for DDs 18th a few years ago. Loved it, wears it everyday.

Happy Birthday to your DD. (Don't worry about the moaning Minnie's.)

I’d go for the one with the most longevity, ie. the classic, single charm. She’s not 16 for long.

I have a 15 year old and I didn't realise Tiffany was fashionable for them.

As a jeweller the prices at Tiffany make me cry !!
And one of my first jobs was cleaning up copies of the open heart pendant

OP if she wants Tiffany then listen to others on here or possibly ask her friends. Otherwise you could potentially get something handmade for her in silver (assuming enough time) for the same budget. I would say it would be unique but knowing my 15 year old they don't always like to be unique.

Well she had a lovely birthday surprise this morning - absolutely loved it - it was exactly what she wanted - wearing it to school today with a big spring in her step which was needed after her English GCSE went badly ….

I’ve seen similar much cheaper in Claire’s Accessories… she’ll never know!

A 16 year old definitely would
