Can I be cheeky and ask you to show me some of the new clothes you will be taking on holiday this summer!!
I need some inspiration. Had a quick look round h&m at the weekend and it looked like I'd gone back to the 1990s!!
I have a wardrobe full of summer clothes but over the past year I've put weight on which is proving quite hard to shift, so it looks like I need to buy things that actually fit!!

I've been hunting down basics...I bought these in navy today. Not too tight in the thigh ;

Also these white leather sandals which were impressively comfy

I’ve been looking everywhere for a very simple linen dress that wasn’t really spendy . This is lovely on and I’m looking forward to wearing it with my new white Mayaris .

I also got these towelling co ords as a beach/pool cover up instead of my usual kimono type things. I picked up a similar but stripy set in Tesco this week. I feel like towelling is my theme this year.

Best swimwear brand if you fancy something a little bit fancy !

I love that bikini ! Too speedy for something I will ruin with suncream though.

LaurieFairyCake · 22/05/2022 10:02

I bought 4 pairs of linen dungarees from Jaki - they're all £29.99 in the sale

I'm wearing a pair now, they are so light and comfy

I like those dungarees. They look a bit short on the body on that model ? How is the length of torso ?

LaurieFairyCake · 22/05/2022 18:43

Loads of torso room - the straps are totally adjustable (obviously) so I've got mine up quite high (I'm short and short waisted) and it doesn't look like I'm wearing a nappy

LaurieFairyCake · 22/05/2022 18:44

Also that model is pretty tall as they're almost ankle length on me at 5ft 2

MistySkiesAreGone · 22/05/2022 21:51

I have this in a top version. Love that it is cotton, colours are fun, the front is fitted:

After ordering about a million bikini's I finally settled on these two. All the bikinis this year are high tummy or high leg which look terrible on my short torso. Much prefer 00s hipster style.

Also impulse bought these shorts from Zara which are so flattering and 100% cotton.

I haven’t picked them up yet but I’ve just ordered some jersey joggers from M&S for £12.50. I just wanted something that won’t get creased, can be worn on the beach, won’t feel too tight in the heat etc. They have good reviews so hopeful

Houseplantmad · 28/05/2022 18:01

@Kittykatmacbill thank you so much for the Uniqlo recommendation. I've just bought the tapered airy trousers and they are so comfortable and so flattering. I'm off to Porto tomorrow and I can see they're going to get a lot of wear as they can be dressed up or down so are very versatile!

Kittykatmacbill · 28/05/2022 18:22

@Houseplantmad my pleasure! I keep wishing I bought two pairs.

bringbacksideburns · 28/05/2022 18:43

That Libby Loves dress on the other page is gorgeous.

I have to admit I have a serious addiction to Vinted. What started off as picking up the odd item during lockdown when I piled on the weight has turned into a fully fledged obsession. Some stuff - like shorts I got for my son - still have the labels on and are unworn.

I’ve bought some Next linen dresses in red, black and lilac. Got a long maxi green strapless dress from New Look on there and then a beautiful dress that I wasn’t sure would look nice and it’s a gorgeous fit - all fitted on top and flowing. Cost £4.( This pic is off the website and it looks great on me)

I got a circular straw / woven bag with a leather strap last year. Those Fit Flops are the comfiest shoes ever for holidays.

kristina123smith · 29/05/2022 21:24

I also bought those fitflop sandals, too. In brown - the size 9 fit me really well. (Usually I'm an 8 1/2.)

Lolojojonesi · 30/05/2022 08:49

Just got some jumpsuits from Whistles which I'll wear on our train adventure through Europe. They are loose on, light cotton and very breezy. Also don't have to worry about the state of my calves.
