Running around the house in my socks...couldn't find my slippers so threw my sandals on as they were at the front door....

Just can't bear to look at my feet 😂😂

One of the most offensive fashion faux pas IMO socks + sandals 🥴😂 but I'm seeing the cool kids now running around in pulled up socks and sliders!!

What do you think are terrible intentional or unintentional fashion faux pas??

Mullets are making a dreaded comeback!!!!

Last year I was wearing very old shorts and grubby t-shirt and wellies when I answered the front door to a delivery guy. The look on his face said it all.
I explained that I was jetwashing my back yard and wheelie bins but I am not sure he believed me

Precipice · 05/05/2022 14:26

Nothing wrong with it. Sometimes your bare feet get cold, but it's still too warm for trainers. Sandals with socks are the perfect solution, especially in the case of changing weather when it gets colder in the evening but you were out in sandals all day.

The only faux pas is socks with in-between-toe sandals. That doesn't work.

Procrastatron · 05/05/2022 14:46

If you are gonna embrace that look you need to ditch the skinnies. Thems the rules. Sorry

But to answer your question, cross stitches not removed from coat vents and stickers not removed from new shoes. 😬😬😬

FIZZYTEDDY · 05/05/2022 14:53

@Procrastatron hahaha it's not a look I'll be hoping to embrace anyways

Totally agree with the cross stitch on suit jackets...and the number of people that dont actually even know that it's supposed to be removed!!!

Tights with sandals, so you can see the reinforced toe, are worse then socks. Socks and sandals are obviously just thrown together in a hurry, tights look as though you’ve decided it’s fine and nobody will notice.

stickers not removed from new shoes.

My mother was mortified when my brother knelt down in front of the altar during his marriage service and not only had he failed to remove the sole stickers from his new wedding shoes, they had big red circular "50% OFF!!!" stickers on them.

This was an omen for the success of his marriage

I did the school run in Birkenstocks and socks.

I like to think it gives me a certain "I don't follow trends" insouciance.

In reality I probably looked like a bag lady - oh well!

nearlyspringyay · 05/05/2022 15:08

It was on trend with the young ones a couple of years ago, sliders and socks. They'll find something new now we're copping on.

Mullets were huge in Aus over lockdown, they're all now having mullet liberation parties and shaving them off!

DeskInUse · 05/05/2022 15:10

Look on the bright side, at least you weren't wearing shirts too

KStockHERO · 05/05/2022 15:11

One of my friends has deliberately had a mullet. She looks absolutely astoundingly stunning. She's got cheek bones you could slice meat on though.

You've made me https://therighthairstyles.com/female-mullet/want a mullet now.

Irishfarmer · 05/05/2022 15:23

Currently wearing Birkenstock's and socks too!! My first pair, are they worth breaking in? They aren't too comfy right now but I am persevering. Tempted to return them though.

Oh fashion faux pas, I'm sure I do plenty all the time. I am not the most fashionable person going!

Ringmaster27 · 05/05/2022 15:25

I do it all the time.
move got a pair of very similar sandals that live permanently by my back door. Socks and sandals is a common occurrence when I’m popping out to the bins or for a cigarette. First thing in the morning I even go as far as socks, sandals and dressing gown - the most heinous ensemble ever 🤷🏻‍♀️😂

DrBrennerFan · 05/05/2022 15:27

I don’t wear sandals I end up with blisters so stoped years ago not worth the pain. I have to wear socks all the time. Unless in slippers indoors.

Shorts arghhhh I meant shorts Blush

SpringSunshine09 · 05/05/2022 16:26

Love it!! I think I am the poster child for offensive fashion faux pas sometimes. Since having children I live every day in leggings that don't even fit well and baggy t-shirts (often milk stained). When dropping my little one at playschool the other day I even noticed my leggings were tucked into my socks. I hope this isn't it for me now 🤣 but I can't seem to care enough to change... yet.

SocksAndTheCity · 05/05/2022 16:38

Can I remind you all this is the Style & Beauty section? Please take your socks and sandals off to AIBU!

balalake · 05/05/2022 16:49

It should be about as socially unacceptable as standing on the left on an escalator or listening to Coldplay. Or at the very least be an example of lazy clothing, it's not too hard for most people to do up shoe laces.

SpaceJamtart · 05/05/2022 16:50

My flatmate wore flipflops and socks on a date once. With a sundress, like thick white sport socks

Georgeskitchen · 05/05/2022 16:58

If mullets are coming back you can count me in!! I had a real banger of a muller in the 80s, it just got bigger....and bigger .......and even bigger 🤣🤣

StarCourt · 05/05/2022 17:02

I had a mullet in the early 2000's and loved it
