How does your teenage boy have his hair. Need ideas

My ds 15 has shoulder length hair which is wavy and wears in a pony tail/bun thing. He feels ugly he says :-( and is asking me things like will he ever get a girlfriend :-( he is lovely looking but of course he won't listen from me, I know hair isn't necessarily going to change how he feels within himself but we need some ideas. He's not into looking ultra trendy, that's not him. I have no idea what kind of hair cuts are 'in' now.

My 14 yo has a skin fade on the back and sides but he has the top curly. He has naturally curly ish hair. Apparently his mates all get perms though

Just rtft and yes moustaches seem to be popular. My DS shaves but won't shave his top lip

DS is 15 and has wavy hair, long. Sits just below his shoulders. Longer hair than I have. He seems fine with it. Doesn't seem interested in how others style their hair.
