Love or hate these sandals?

I have my girlie moments with skirts in summer etc. but summer for me is tshirt and short jeans mostly. I thought of these as a compromise as a study sandal as I like to get out and about and take photos.

Love or loathe? I can't decide! Hopefully the attachment works.

It's the Dr Martens Blaire Patent sandals in purple

Love or hate these sandals?

I don't like them BUT I think if you get them I love the colour and the patent look. Black is so dull. Purple imo will look great and as they're on your feet will go with everything. I had some beautiful purple patent shoes, well 2 pairs actually, and found that they went with everything.

Blossomtoes · 20/04/2022 17:49

Love. Buy them now and wear them at home a few times with socks to break them in.

Bearsan · 20/04/2022 17:52

I love them. I have Dr Martens sandals. They're very comfortable after about two weeks. Absolute agony before then.

Echobelly · 20/04/2022 17:59

I like them and wish I could wear them but can't for orthpaedic reasons!

BungleandGeorge · 20/04/2022 18:09

You have to have the right ‘look’ for them- either alternative or fashionista (with frilly socks).

Suprima · 20/04/2022 18:17

I love them but I wouldn’t get them in purple.

get them in black

ElenaSt · 20/04/2022 19:06

Hideous. Only to be worn by middle aged librarians who live on their own with four cats.

MapleMay11 · 20/04/2022 19:18

Loathe. All DMs - awful.

KimikosNightmare · 20/04/2022 19:20

Hideous. And apparently not even comfortable.

balalake · 20/04/2022 19:24

I don't like them. Skirts with trainers is perfectly OK and I think look better in my opinion.

SirChenjins · 20/04/2022 19:27

Hate them - fugly describes them perfectly

Chewbecca · 20/04/2022 19:33

They’re very cool and ‘now’ in my opinion. Will look good with long floaty skirts as well as jeans or flappy trousers.

The hideous, clumpy footwear with the floaty skirt/ pretty dress combination was original about 35 years ago. I don't know what those monstrosities would look good with.

Loathe, sorry. They look like something a German granny would wear. Too clompy.

😂 Too funny! But I agree, and I love chunky shoes!

LowbrowVictoriana · 20/04/2022 23:38

I love them and have just ordered them in black!

But I don't do dainty footwear.

UnusuallyUsual · 20/04/2022 23:47

I love them... except for the colour, they would be perfect in oxblood or black. I have a similar pair and had no touble breaking them in, please report back if you brought them and if they gave you blisters

MrsEricBana · 20/04/2022 23:55

I'd say definitely yes to the style but black would be preferable as more classic dm I think.

Goldengoosey · 20/04/2022 23:55

Love the style. Purple is not my favourite colour and I have black patent chunky sandals and find them harder to wear than normal leather. Seems to make my skin look even more peely wally than it is 😂

Nsky62 · 21/04/2022 00:04

Loathe

Girlintheframe · 21/04/2022 07:22

Love them!

WhyTheWhales · 21/04/2022 10:49

These also won't be to everyone's taste, but these are my favourite DM sandals

I like the black ones, but the white ones are nice too

Katiepoes · 21/04/2022 10:55

I have them in black. Am not a Goth, a librarian nor a German granny ...I wear mine with cropped jeans, palazzo pants or a maxi skirt. They are very comfortable now but did take some breaking in, I used those moleskin sticky strips inside them.

I'm not in my 20s either btw, in fact very soon to be in my 50s. I hope that vision of ugliness gives some of you the vapours 😀

BobbinThreadbare123 · 21/04/2022 10:57

I love them, but then I am a goth so I go for maximum clomp in my shoe choices 😆

giggbig · 21/04/2022 20:59

ugly but good ugly if that makes sense

MrsRinaDecker · 21/04/2022 21:30

They’re a bit too chunky for me.. but I think they would suit some people..
