This cream has changed my face!

I have sensitive skin, sometimes can be quite dry. Anything 'drying' or harsh makes my skin break out. But something like a moisturiser that's really really basic like a Simple branded one does nothing for it

I recently put a cream called Atrixo on my face. I was desperate on a trip out and my face was dry

Woke up the following morning and I was growing! Absolutely glowing.

I've been using it for over a month and it's still fantastic.

At £3 or less a pot I just had to share Smile

Hope this might help someone in need of something new to try

Don't know about Atrixo but Nivea absolutely is a dupe for Crème de la Mer.

Surely it's the other way round, Nivea has been around much longer than CDLM.

nopuppiesallowed · 06/04/2022 20:14

Nivea is terrible for the super sensitive skin on my face. Years ago a dermatologist recommended Cetraben and I've used it ever since with no problems.

@Netty909

I think I remember an advert for this in the early 80s. A lady got a very dry leaf and then applied some cream to it an afterwards could bend it in her hand without it cracking. I remember being very impressed at the time. There is something to be said about using these older products. After trying every cleanser under the sun I've gone back to using Anne French cleansing milk, the first one I tried when I was 13. It's really fabulous.
I remember that advert, and tried moisturising a leaf as a child. It didn't work. For that reason I'm out. I will not be putting Atrixo on my face.

My mum uses this in the eighties it has a very distinctive smell

Theunamedcat · 06/04/2022 22:02

@Vapeyvapevape

Mind you , I grabbed a tube of cream without my glasses on thinking it was face cream, it was actually cracked heel cream, I thought it smelt a bit minty for face cream.
I.once used hemorrhoid cream instead of savlon on my youngest fingers after his brother trapped them in a bike chain the swelling went down instantly and my youngest felt zero pain in his fingers they healed really well too 🤣 sometimes the wrong cream does a great job
SpottyBumPony · 06/04/2022 22:11

@Theunamedcat my Grandma swore that Hemorrhoid cream was the best thing for under eye bags!

PAFMO · 07/04/2022 09:02

Hemorrhoid cream has always been known for working on puffy eyes. If you think about it, it's logical. If it works on swollen veins elsewhere ...

Gwenhwyfar · 08/04/2022 13:15

I use hand and even foot creams for my entire body as they're richer and work for my dry skin.
I would try on the face and as long as it doesn't give you spots, no problem!

Shlomping1234 · 08/04/2022 13:53

My Grama used to use this and had beautiful skin. I can smell it now 😊 I'm going to get some for my awful 40 odd year old spotty skin 😅

Mamawarrior · 08/04/2022 14:26

Bought this today in savers! Can’t wait til try 😀

Sarahddraig · 18/04/2022 18:07

We've had Atrixo in our house for years. My Gran and Mum both used it for hands and face. However, I can't as I'm allergic to chamomile. This seems to be in a lot of beauty products. Does anyone else have a problem with it?

MoWych · 23/03/2023 09:50

does anyone remember a hand cream in a jar that Boots sold in the 70’s smelt like Turkish Delight. I recently stayed in a hotel were the products reminded me so much of the scent cross a between Rose and Turkish Delight

dontgobaconmyheart · 23/03/2023 12:20

Each to their own but I wouldn't want to put this on my face, the ingredients list isn't great for the face. I've sensitive skin and am blemish prone and it would do a number on me by the looks of it.

If you've got dry skin (as do I so can relate) then you need more hydrating ingredients and formulas than the likes of Simple generally offer. It stands to reason that anything that is thicker and contains some of these types of ingredients are going to yield the same result.

I look significantly different if I don't properly hydrate my face- fine lines are more visible, dark circles are and it generally looks pallid so in that respect any decent moisturiser with proper emollient 'changes' my skin completely.

I often use hand cream on my legs, for extra softness, haven't tried it on the face, although for around two weeks have been using on my face and chest only at night, the new No7 hand cream with retinol and at the same time started using The ordinary Niacinamide10%+ zinc1% in the mornings, and my face do look and feel a bit smoother, it could be the No7 or could it be the Niacinamide.

Wow! That was in our bathroom cabinet at home (80s) . Unused as far as I saw, apart from when I did a 'George's Marvellous Medicine' reenactment 😂

elastamum · 23/03/2023 13:24

I spend a lot of time working outside and use Nivea mixed with a drop of Bepanten nappy cream on my late 50's face. Works a treat.

My nan used that as her hands were in hot water a lot. I found it very greasy.

CambsAlways · 23/03/2023 13:48

My mum used it for her hands as it’s hand cream I think it could be too perfumed for face though, would be for me anyway

Fremdschämen · 24/03/2023 18:08

I've used Norwegian Formula unscented hand cream on my face. This has a high glycerine content which acts as a humectant.
