Apparently there are good ones in Tesco. (As recommended recently by the High Priestess Cod).

Heathcliffscathy · 06/01/2008 22:03

MrsBadger · 06/01/2008 22:04

woodenchair · 06/01/2008 22:04

another vote for hennes

I think that dotty p's have some in as well, about the same price

oregonianabroad · 06/01/2008 22:11

Thanks, all.
Am in the UK. Have recently been in Brum, there is an absolute dearth of appropriate neckline. It is as if the scoop neck top has vanished from the shops, but I think it is so much softer than a v-neck, and more flattering than a crew.

any on-line???

the hunt continues.

Heathcliffscathy · 06/01/2008 22:12

whoops. sorry, i'm talking about crew.

but i do think they have scoop too.

can't do scoop. boobs to big.

oregonianabroad · 06/01/2008 22:13

Nice site, Mrs Badger. I've never seen that one before -- have you ordered from them before?

OP posts:
oregonianabroad · 06/01/2008 22:14

Neck too fat for crew, Sophable!

OP posts:
MrsBadger · 06/01/2008 22:15

yep, and bought from rl shop

oregonianabroad · 06/01/2008 22:16

Will maybe order a black one from them. Not many other colours available tho.

Dorothy Perkins - £7 each, or 2 for £12 instore (probably same online). V soft, quite long. NO idea how they wash - only bought mine on Saturday, and they're still in the bag.

oregonianabroad · 06/01/2008 22:19

oooh, they have a boat neck one too, only 3.99! Now, help me out here, is boat neck OK for chubby girls or not????

OP posts:
JackieNo · 06/01/2008 22:19

Boat neck not neccessarily good if you have large-ish norks, I don't think. Might work though.

oregonianabroad · 06/01/2008 22:20

I knew you'd come through for me, JackieNo!

I bought a lovely top in Dotty P's in the sale but don't know how you'd describe the neckline it was sort of loose, IYKWIM. They only had 1 left (pink) anyone seen anything like this anywhere else??

OP posts:
oregonianabroad · 06/01/2008 22:22

small to med norks, chubby everywhere else (size 16.... OK, 18 after XMas...)

OP posts:
oregonianabroad · 06/01/2008 22:24

like this

OP posts:
JackieNo · 06/01/2008 22:24

Probably OK then, nork-wise. Trying to visualise the neckline you mean - is it something like a cowl neck?

JackieNo · 06/01/2008 22:25

Aha - Xpost - it was. Hmm, not sure.

oregonianabroad · 06/01/2008 22:27

exactly, although I'm running a mile from those stripes!
Didn't know that was a cowl-neck -- I think of big jumpers with really loose polar necks on them.
What do you think of the neck-line? I really like it, but of course they are probably meant for Gwynyth Paltrow.

OP posts:
JackieNo · 06/01/2008 22:27

Debenhams have a few things with cowl necks - not sure I'm very keen on any of them though.

fishie · 06/01/2008 22:27

if you are smaller on shoulders than hips then cowl should be ok. i find all these tops are too cheap. so you spend ages finding the right one and then wash it once and it goes all saggggy.

JackieNo · 06/01/2008 22:28

Have to say, I'm not really a fan of cowl necks, but that's probably because they'd look dreadful on me. I really dislike having anything round my neck - hardly ever even do shirts because collars annoy me.

policywonk · 06/01/2008 22:28

The Boden ones are nice shape and good quality - they hang well.

oregonianabroad · 06/01/2008 22:29

x posts!!!

Just curious, Jackie -- what do you do in RL? Sorry to be nosy and you don't have to say if you don't want to, it's just that every time I have a fashion question you seem to have the answer immediately at your fingertips!! You're amazing!
