hmm i spent £55 on a boden jumper which was handwash only. i dutifully complied but it is awfully bobbly and i am cross.

Fishie -- agree re: cheapness. But policywonk, bought Boden to avoid cheapness and have just posted back 2 jumpers that went all pilly and shapeless after only a few weeks. very, very disappointed that 'money-saving investment type' shopping splurge went so wrong!

No - I don't work in anything to do with fashion, sadly. I think my dream job would be as a personal shopper - spending other people's money. I'm just OK at finding links to things.

Some of the less sweatery things at Principles aren't bad - the green, charcoal, silver and ivory ones. The orange one, on the other hand, I really hate.

oregonianabroad · 06/01/2008 22:33

fishie, if you have the packing slip send it back! It says 3 months no quibble.

OB - honest, the plain scoop necks wear well - I'm no Boden fiend (can't afford to be) but I bought a black scoop-neck from there in the autumn and have washed and tumble-dried it loads, and it still looks good.

oregonianabroad · 06/01/2008 22:36

That orange one would make me look like I was still expecting.

But now I am lusting after the grey boots that are half price -- this must stop!

PS It's viscose/elastane, so no pilling.

oregonianabroad · 06/01/2008 22:37

Policywonk, do you mean the jersey one or the knit one?

oregonianabroad · 06/01/2008 22:39

INterestingly, my father has a theory that more expensive knits like cashmere tend to pill more quickly than cheap acrylic. At the moment, everything I buy, whether cheap or expensive, seems to disintigrate immediately.

this one

Mind you, they're only selling them in rubbish colours ATM so you might have to wait until the sale is over? Don't understand how Boden works...

brimfull · 06/01/2008 22:45

I like this one from uniglo

would obv need a vest under

xl would fit an 18

I have ordered from them ,really fast delivery and great quality.

Jeans are fab as well

fishie · 06/01/2008 22:47

your dad is dead right, that boden jumper has angora in it. i'd rather have some good old nylon.

oregonianabroad · 06/01/2008 22:59

Thanks ladies! Am off to sleep on it.
