Lemon perfume - can’t remember the name!

About 18 years ago I was given a lemon perfume - it smelt pretty much of pure lemon. Maybe a bit of perfumed lemon Grin

Anyway, at the time I wasn’t overwhelmed, but my nose has changed and I thought I might like it. I can’t work out what it was though!

Yellow and white box, normal sort of perfume styling, you’d be able to get it in duty free. Not Lancôme O. That’s all I’ve got.

Any ideas? I’ve looked on Fragrantica.

REally! I loved this one! do they still make it?

TotalRhubarb · 21/03/2022 21:49

Your description made me think of Fresh’s Sugar Lemon perfume, though I don’t think that ever had a nobbly bottle.

I have this one for work. Sometimes I love it, sometimes it smells like I’ve been cleaning with Flash!

Marc Jacobs Lemon

Caramac555 · 21/03/2022 22:06

There's not much xs pour elle still around, I've been buying up when I find it but to be honest a lot is now getting past it. I miss this perfume so much. Have a sniff of marks and spencer sheer radiance. It's not the same but similar notes

Zilla1 · 21/03/2022 22:18

I know you found the perfume but if of interest as that one is difficult to get, a Dior Eau Sauvage was a relatively sophisticated fragrance with a lemon and bergamot top note?

SheWoreYellow · 21/03/2022 22:24

Argh dammit that it’s not made any more!

I’m happy that I got to the bottom of the mystery though.

Thank you everyone!

Dolce and Gabana light blue is really lemony and in a frosted glass bottle, can't remember the box colour though

Iamneverfull · 21/03/2022 22:32

Could it have been a Guerlain one? In the Aqua Allegoria range. The bottles are quite distinctive.

QuizzicalEyebrows · 21/03/2022 22:46

Calvin Klein was very lemony. CK one I think

Love CK one for summer, so fresh.

DedalusBloom · 21/03/2022 23:07

God, I loved that XS perfume in the 90s. Was gutted when it was discontinued. Don't bother with any of the existing XS perfumes, they are all pretty dreadful.

DedalusBloom · 21/03/2022 23:08

It was more floral than citrus though if I remember rightly?

SiobhanSharpe · 21/03/2022 23:10

If you're after a good citrus perfume Dior's Escale à Portofino is meant to evoke the scent of Italian lemons and unlike many citrus perfumes, it persists for a good while. It's very lemony and summery.
Sadly It's quite expensive but it is Dior, after all.

@Feargalthecat

Sorry this one
I had this perfume in this type of bottle and loved it, rebought it and I'd love it to come back! I am a bit of a perfume killer though, anything I like seems to go out of production.

D&G light blue is in a velvety light blue box.

Carthusia used to do an absolutely gorgeous lemon perfume, but tragically they don't seem to make it any more. Never found one quite as good again.

Susu49 · 21/03/2022 23:17

Want to try this

BoldMove · 21/03/2022 23:18

Boots used to make one surprisingly, it was a lemon splash but they don't make it anymore.

liliainterfrutices · 21/03/2022 23:44

Lemon Zest.

PurplePansy05 · 21/03/2022 23:44

OP, they sell it on eBay or Etsy? As vintage perfumes, you're right, they're discontinued. Not sure if they are all genuine but some look rather vintage are likely to be OG. They don't cost a total fortune anyway, you might want to give it a go?

SheWoreYellow · 22/03/2022 07:20

@DedalusBloom

I see that on frgrantica. On me it was total lemon though. Definitely.

Aqua Citra?

@Theroomwhereithappens

Mary Greenwell - Lemon?
Mary Greenwell Lemon is gorgeous. Very floral, aromatic lemon. It's discontinued now but you can still sometimes get a bottle cheap(ish) on eBay.
