Where can I buy nightwear that will make me feel like Cathy haunting the moors?

But a bit ruffled and sexy? I'm on a teeny budget but don't mind looking out for second hand. Help me live my best gothic bedtime life.

Powell Craft. I’ve tried to post a picture 3 times now!

Powell craft nighties are well made and beautiful! My dd loves the child versions and has a whole collection, they last years. It is always tempting to go for a cheaper version but the cotton content and quality is v important!!

CeeceeBloomingdale · 21/02/2022 19:49

Amazon, I remember a fashion blogger posting that’s where hers was from a while back.

JungleRed · 21/02/2022 20:11

I never thought of Shein or Amazon, I'll have a good nosy round!
The Powell Craft ones are beautiful! I might need to start a wishlist Grin

Came to say Powell Craft - run around in a rainstorm and seize the emotion!

Looks similar to Powell Craft.

Ohyesiam · 21/02/2022 21:05

Oh Powell Craft! Mine makes me want to run up and down the cloisters with a candelabra.

ArabeI · 21/02/2022 21:19

Just had to click on this thread title!

I recently bought a St Michael vintage nightdress from Vinted. It was unused with tags, white, long, fitted waist.

I also bought two Marks and Spencer nightdresses, as I liked the style so much, so you might find something in there. They're long, pale blue with square neckline and fluted short sleeves.

I didn't know Powell Craft made nightdresses for adults!

Craftycorvid · 21/02/2022 21:46

Ooh lovely! I’d nip outside and claw at the casements but it’s a bit nippy....

LadyMuckOfCowshitFarm · 21/02/2022 21:47

I used to get mine from Past Times. Not much use I realise given it's been out of business for about a decade, but maybe there'll be some on eBay?

LadyMuckOfCowshitFarm · 21/02/2022 21:52

Actually OP I've just remembered Museum Selection, which is sort of Past Times mark two.

Any good?

Or maybe this?

NaiceLeftie · 21/02/2022 21:52

Maybe search for “gothic nightdress” on Ebay and Amazon? I’ve seen some lovely goth style dresses on Amazon before.

LadyMuckOfCowshitFarm · 21/02/2022 21:54

An actual Past Times one

Now I want one, too.

JungleRed · 22/02/2022 08:32

@Ohyesiam well now I need to buy a candelabra too! I'll need to find something suitable before Storm Gladys is announced, though dancing through Tyneside back lanes in the rain might just get me arrested. But at least it would be a break from the kids. Oh yes, Past Times! Kicking myself I did not make enough use of that ship when it existed. I've been having a nosy on Vinted so I'll keep my eye out for suitably Rochester's First Wife. Grin

OP your post is brilliant ❤️

McScreamysGhostPants · 22/02/2022 08:43

I have used Powell craft and white nighty. Can highly recommend both. It's also worth checking in TK maxx. I got three beautiful flowering and embroidered white cotton night gowns and they were £12.99 each! I love this style. I wear them at home obviously but also take a few on holiday as when we are sitting around the villa they are just so cool and comfortable.

JungleRed · 22/02/2022 10:38

I have to be in the exact correct mood for TK Maxx or it sends me into a frustrated tailspin. Especially trailing a buggy. But I may have to venture there, fortified with coffee and a big umbrella for poking folk out the way.

Cologne & Cotton?

LOVE their stuff - their bedlinen is beautiful quality and seems to last forever especially wen you fancy a change

JungleRed · 22/02/2022 11:33

@TheReturnoftheSmartArse just off to sell my worldly goods so I can buy the whole collection and a four poster bed for swooning purposes.

TheReturnoftheSmartArse · 22/02/2022 11:38
Grin Isn't it gorgeous?! I've had the same set on my bed every summer for about 10 years and it still looks like new, though I'd quite like a change but can't justify it. I also really need a floaty nighty to go with it, though I don't usually wear anything in bed and all this gorgeous white cotton looks a little see-through for floating around the house in in front of DS and his mates Grin DH would probably be delighted though ... Also, there are lots of vintage/historical paper patterns about on eBay if you are in to sewing!
