Windy damp day means frizzy hair for me - but not everyone. How,

Damo, windswept looked absolutely demented and frizzy,. Yet, lots of people without frizzy hair and are looking sleek. I don’t believe they’ve all had Brazilian doo dahs or have they? How do you stop your hair freezing if it’s slightly damp

Anti frizz serum
Hot hair straighteners
Hairspray
Most importantly: Wear a scarf or hood over your head when outside, pulled tight so no whisper of moisture can get to your hair

AllOfTheDwarves · 20/02/2022 19:25

ColourWow Dream Coat.

Fairislefandango · 20/02/2022 19:26

My hair is naturally poker-straight. It wouldn't frizz if Iput 1000 volts through it. I'd almost rather a bit of frizz than fine and limp tbh!

LiveFromNewYork · 20/02/2022 20:41

I definitely think Elnett hairspray helps. I'm a massive frizzer.

RachHen · 20/02/2022 20:49

Damp !! Not damo. Lol

Colour wow dream coat 👍🏽

Rummikub · 20/02/2022 21:00

What is this colour wow dream coat?

As soon as I step outside my hair frizzes.
Frizzease too heavy for my hair.

Someone on another thread recommended 8 second wonder water.

I too have noticed the sleek ones.

Didyousaynutella · 20/02/2022 21:01

Yep I have totally straight hair too. It never frizzes. Guess that’s an up side. The down side is I can spend a hour in a salon getting it curled and it will be flat within an hour. It also goes greasy fast. Have to wash it every day. We all have our cross to bear I guess.

MaizeAmaze · 20/02/2022 21:06

They have a certain type of straight hair!

I'm a frizz ball. Straighteners can only deal with a certain amount of humidity.

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 20/02/2022 21:14

It's just down to the texture of your hair. Some of us - including me - have naturally frizzy hair. Some don't. The lucky beggars.

Yep I use the L'Oréal wonder water also. You use it instead of conditioner after shampoo, it literally is like water. I was fed up of conditioner feeling heavy and making my hair greasy and Limp super quickly. The wonder water is super light but coats your hair to leave it smooth and silky. It's usually £10 but boots often have it on offer for £5 and I buy a few bottles at a time.

The colour wow is a type of heat spray you spray on towel dried hair and then blow dry and it 'sets' the hair as you have blow dried it. There is another one in the range for curly hair too but I've never used that.

Result is lighter bouncier hair that stays in shape and doesn't frizz

Invasionofthegutsnatchers · 21/02/2022 06:41

My hair has a slight wave but I'm really lucky with it I can air dry it and give it a quick brush andbit looks good. Very rarely ever use a hairdryer. It's in really good condition as I don't use heat on ut- I don't own straighteners.

Rummikub · 21/02/2022 08:33

@yorkshireteaspoonie

The idea of non frizz sounds exciting!

Do you use both products at same time? I have thin fine fair.

RachHen · 21/02/2022 08:33

I’ve bought the wow stuff.

TulipsGarden · 21/02/2022 08:36

Your hair might be naturally slightly wavy? If you're treating it like straight hair it will go frizzy.

I have naturally poker-straight hair and it never frizzes. I wish it would, I'd love some volume! It goes flat and staticy and gets greasy quickly.

ferneytorro · 21/02/2022 08:49

A keratin treatment in a salon. Doesn’t make it flat but just doesn’t frizz.

DoNotTouchTheWater · 21/02/2022 08:57

Some people just have much better hair than me.

I look like professor trelawney much of the time.

psuedocream3 · 21/02/2022 09:08

Keratin straight treatment

Mercurial123 · 21/02/2022 09:44

L'Oréal Steam pod works for me. Colour Wow Dreamcoat destroyed my hair leaving a stringy mess. I hate it.

Mundra · 21/02/2022 11:13

I've just started using the 8second wonder stuff, and on the lengths it's really good. The problem for me is the bit by the scalp, which is frizzier than ever today (horrendously damp and windy here) so I look twice as bad as usual - lovely sleek lengths, frizzy top. I need to wear a hat all the time.

MintMocha · 21/02/2022 11:30

I've tried both the Wonder Water and the Color Wow, and had no long term success with either - my hair felt soft intially, but it didn't last and still went frizzy.

I'd be interested in a Keratin treatment one day but not sure that they last as long as claimed, and for the price, that does kind of matter!

My hairdress can blow it dry and make it shiny using something called Natural Look static free DJ shine serum, so I have just bought some to try, but I am avoiding washing my hair as long as possible after my appointment so haven't tried it myself yet.. I don't have much success with my own blow dries or serums etc, but you never know, maybe this will be the holy grail (after trying a million of them!)

MrsVeryTired · 21/02/2022 11:58

Not everyone has the same hair OP Grin
My hair is wavy and goes slightly wavier when damp, never frizzy.

Have had people recommend Frizz-ease in the past though (don't know why they were telling me, like @Fairislefandango mine wouldn't frizz with an electric shock!)

KatharinaRosalie · 21/02/2022 13:58

My hair simply doesn't get frizzy. It's straight and might get slightly wavier, but that's it. I don't own straighteners, tried them once and they made basically no difference.

MistySkiesAfterRain · 22/02/2022 02:21

I rate Loreal anti frizz shampoo and conditioner. Herbal Essences also do a good one. Tresemme as well but not as good. Loreal antifrizz serum.

When I blowdry I use a clamping brush to pull the hair flat. I do use straighteners for work purposes and mainly as its quicker than trying to dry it straight. Again use the clamping brush with straighteners. I have semi coarse hair so it can take the heat.
