Gradual tan product

Please can you advise.

I am fair skinned and have very white legs. I am going on holiday in March and would like to start using a gradual tanning product.

I want an easy to use, natural looking one, that doesn't have a biscuit smell.

I have tried to google but as there are so many I come away confused. So I am on here looking for recommendations.

Thank you

I use Vita Liberata, I have very pale skin and it's the only one I have found that doesn't have an orange tinge, goes on easily and has no smell

Hotmess1 · 27/01/2022 14:28

I love the dove gradual tan everyday lotion - really subtle but gives a lovely colour

interferingma · 27/01/2022 14:28

Another vote for Dove. Prep your skin first by exfoliating, and then moisturising.

The best cheap gradual tine for me is palmers or bondi sands ( 5.99 in b&m ) or anything from stmoritz. Also if you can afford to spend more st tropez is ace

jeaux90 · 27/01/2022 15:31

I second vita liberata.

franfranwills · 27/01/2022 15:45

The one I use is called bondi sands gives me a subtle glow that never looks orange.

Comedycook · 27/01/2022 17:23

Dove is my favourite

gunnersgold · 27/01/2022 17:25

I use isle of paradise drops in light . It was a game changer when it came out a few years ago ! It's so natural and works with my pasty white blotchy legs !
Literally changed my life !

Livedandlearned · 27/01/2022 17:29

If I put gradual tan on tomorrow and went swimming on Saturday would it wash off?

barfotoliv · 27/01/2022 17:31

Dove. No biscuity smell at all.

setthecontrols · 27/01/2022 17:46

@gunnersgold
Is that the one you mix with moisturiser?
How many drops do you use?

VanCleefArpels · 27/01/2022 17:47

A bit of an investment is Evolve gradual tan, the only one I’ve ever used that doesn’t smell. Sali Hughes rates it!

gunnersgold · 27/01/2022 17:52

@setthecontrols , I'm not very precise , I use it all over in the summer and on my face in the winter .
I use a ratio of roughly 1/8 of moisturiser . I use the big Nivea one with the pump and put a big of hand cream on my knees and ankles and feet before . Honestly the best thing ever !

gunnersgold · 27/01/2022 17:53

I will add every other product I've tried which is lots has made me orange . This is such a nice tone for pale legs !

setthecontrols · 27/01/2022 18:26

@gunnersgold
Thank you for that helpful info!
I'll definitely try it.

Coffeepot72 · 27/01/2022 18:52

I have just ordered St Tropez shower tan, apparently you apply it in the shower, wait 3 mins then shower off any excess. I will report back!

apinions · 27/01/2022 19:12

@psuedocream3 @jeaux90 does the Vita Liberata gradual tan have any smell? I'm yet to try a gradual tanner that doesn't make my bedsheets smell of that horrible biscuit scent.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 27/01/2022 19:15

M&S Autograph range does a gradual self tan. Lovely colour and no biscuits.

Celia66 · 27/01/2022 19:30

I'm very pale and like the Bondi Sands one mentioned above.

gunnersgold · 27/01/2022 19:34

@setthecontrols asos sell it and they have 20% off today with code payday

gunnersgold · 27/01/2022 19:35

Sorry payyay

AgathaX · 27/01/2022 19:36

Coffeepot72 I'm tempted to try the shower tan. So much easier if it works well. I can only imagine it going streaky though.

dementedma · 27/01/2022 19:42

Nip and Fab drops in a little brown bottle. Im complimented on my tanned legs every year

setthecontrols · 27/01/2022 19:53

@gunnersgold
Thanks!

emsyj37 · 27/01/2022 19:57

The St Tropez shower tan isn't streaky, it works but it is very very very subtle, so I found it expensive as you need to use it several days in a row to get any colour, and the colour you do get is absolutely minimal. It sounds more convenient, but it isn't really IMO. The Bondi Sands gradual tan in the blue pump bottle gives a nice natural light tan in 2 applications and lasts well, and you don't have to stand freezing in the shower with the water turned off waiting for it to work!
I've tried a few Bondi Sands tans and been pleased with all of them.
