newname, am pondering doing what you suggest (taking sth back for refund and buying it for sale price), but do the shops have to allow it or do you have to return it and go back later to buy it cheap?

fishie · 27/12/2007 21:51

i think if you have receipt and it is within return period they'll have to. otherwise you'd just return it at full price and rebuy it reduced.

fishie · 27/12/2007 21:54

oh i didn't read your post properly, thought you were asking if can get the cash difference from shops.

how can they stop you returning and rebuying, why would they care?

Pannacotta · 27/12/2007 21:55

Seems a bit wrong somehow - not sure why as I have the receipt and havent worn it - but will give it a try...

Heated · 27/12/2007 21:56

Annoyed with myself at buying dh some Merrell trainers with £45 off, only to find he's a size 10 and not 9; damn I wish I could convert from European sizing! Now I've got to return the damn things...but might stay well clear of Next for a week!

fishie really it is the same as getting the cash difference - which might seem wrong to the shop, but suppose they cannot stop me returning and then rebuying sth.

fishie · 27/12/2007 22:07

motherfunk you bring a good case study. right then:
how long did it take you to find them?
woudl you have bought them if not r&r?
what has happened to them now?

fishie · 27/12/2007 22:07

panna what shop is it how much money are we talking here (is it worth it?)

Pannacotta · 27/12/2007 22:09

£50 is a v good price for some posh denim, but have noticed that the only pricey jeans I like (Seven for all mankind) are never in the sales...

Pannacotta - I've never done it myself since I have no patience for sales queues but I'm sure some people with more time on their hands do . It's probably fraud of some type but I've returned things to shops that I just changed my mind on (not Christmas presents).

That reminds me, I must take back some jeans I foolishly didn't try on the other day. Size 14 and I could have got my dd in there with me with room to spare for a few more kids ! 14s.... more like 18s....!

hoxtonchick · 27/12/2007 23:16

i have got lots of pairs of 7 for all mankind jeans for 25 quid from tk maxx.

Pannacotta · 28/12/2007 11:13

Hoxtonchick are they genuine, for that price??
(Note to self, must go to TK MAxx on regular basis...)

dexter73 · 28/12/2007 13:17

I think the jeans from TK Maxx are Seven jeans not Seven for all mankind jeans. They always seem to have these in the store. Never seen them anywhere else so don't know how much they cost normally. This is on the Ebay website.

Hulababy · 28/12/2007 13:35

There is nothing I want or need enough to make me contemplate ever going to the madness that is the sales!

hoxtonchick · 28/12/2007 17:54

you might be right dexter. but they are super flattering .

WeWhizzzYouAMerryXmas · 28/12/2007 18:00

I went in Next today and it actually wasn't bad. Went in around 9.30ish - didn't have to queue at the till or fight my way around the shop. I bought a rather nice black cowl neck sweater dress for £10 (looks lovely on) and shorts £2 & top £4 both for DS !

hoxtonchick · 28/12/2007 18:00

oh, and the west end today was grim. it made me want to cry. i only went into 3 shops then sat & read my book & drank reviving coffee. have got all next year's decorations, wrapping paper & cards though.

LIZS · 28/12/2007 18:01

Might go tomorrow. Anyone braved Bluewater ?

Heathcliffscathy · 28/12/2007 18:07

i bought these

they are bloody gorgeous and £35. they had them in black but the grey were irresistable.
