Where can I get trousers like PJs but for outside the house

I love being comfortable, it's basically my favourite thing.

I mainly wear dresses with leggings as they are the most comfortable option for me. I'm not a fan of tracksuit bottoms, but I do love wearing pyjama bottoms at home. I usually wear the brushed cotton sort that don't stretch. They don't have a thick uncomfy waistband and they aren't tight around the waist. I don't actually even look bad with just a straight leg trouser.

Does an equivalent exist that I could buy to wear out the house? The comfy waist is the key thing as I suffer from IBS and just can't bear being constricted.

Please help me wise MNers!

Lucy and Yak do some baggy elasticated waist trousers.

Bellossom · 07/01/2022 18:27

I came to recommend Lucy and yak too though I wear the dungarees, feels like nothing round waist at all I'm addicted to them

NameChangeforMoneyThings · 07/01/2022 18:34

I hadn't realised they did anything other than dungarees! I will have a look at them, thank you!

Yeah Lucy and Yak Alexas are what you want to look at!

HardbackWriter · 07/01/2022 18:37

This might sound mad but have you considered maternity trousers? Under not over the bump (or you'd end up with loads of loose material). I found it hard to go back to normal jeans because maternity ones are so much more comfortable!

JeSuis · 07/01/2022 18:40

Lucy and Yak is a great shout! Their Akexas are so like PJs!

savvy7 · 07/01/2022 18:40

Hush Amie joggers

JeSuis · 07/01/2022 18:40

Alexas*

Bluebluemoon · 07/01/2022 18:41

Hush! They have loads.

JeSuis · 07/01/2022 18:46

If you are a fan of jumpsuits and boilersuits, I can recommend a small, London based brand, called Wild Clouds. Comfiest jumpsuits I've owned.

Newyearnewyearnew · 07/01/2022 18:47

Yoga trousers like these?

Thank you everyone there's definitely a load to be looking at! I quite like some of the mad prints on Lucy and Yak, and maybe I need to get some kind of comfy yoga pant/similar for a plain option.

Duns baggy pants are the comfiest ever. They come either plain or in all sorts of prints. They feel like PJs as the cotton is sooo soft.

M&S do quite a few variations on jersey trousers which are as comfy as pyjama bottoms.

Oh my god yes! I have just discovered the joy of maternity leggings, and then even better maternity jeans! A bloody revelation, soooo comfortable!!! Even when I was skinny jeans were bloody uncomfortable and you always had the issue of going out to eat and surreptitiously having to undo them!! Everyone needs to know about this! Maternity jeans are the way forward!
RavingAnnie · 07/01/2022 21:00

I second hush. Their harems are super comfy.

JaceLancs · 07/01/2022 21:24

I have some jogger style denim jeggings from next which are very helpful when my IBS is particularly bad and I can’t bear anything around my waist
They are amazingly flattering on the legs and look good with most footwear

GettingStuffed · 07/01/2022 21:29

I wear these, I have 3 pairs atm and they're mainly cotton plus a little stretch www.peacocks.co.uk/4800340-black_plain.html

riotlady · 07/01/2022 22:26

Came in here to say Lucy and Yak and clearly I’ve been beaten to the punch! They are great though

Zooforhouse · 07/01/2022 22:32

Fatface do too!

LoveaStatementNap · 07/01/2022 23:09

Saint and Sofia. They’re all elasticated waistbands and look decent out. And they last.

MerryMarigold · 07/01/2022 23:14

I love jersey elasticated trousers. Next usually have some. Matalan. I bought some oj'd that could easily be trousers but in the end I wore them once and chickened out as they were still for sale in TK Maxx!

MerryMarigold · 07/01/2022 23:15

Should say, I bought some PJs

Inthesameboatatmo · 08/01/2022 07:30

Harem pants .

SarahMused · 08/01/2022 07:42

Try Uniqlo for good value lounge wear. A lot of it is suitable to wear out and about. No one would even know about the elasticated waists once you have a t shirt or jumper on.
