So I've been given a mylee led gel nail station for Xmas and I'm just so excited!
Just after tips for applications and removal? I am a single mum with 2 children so I don't have time to sit and soak for hour 😂 are there any recommended products to remove the gel quickly?
Also any recommendations for other gel nail varnish brands etc that I can use?
Feels so good to have nice nails again 🥰

You need to buff your actual nail. Then wipe with the prep. It's really important not to let the gel come into contact with your skin: it can cause severe allergies which would mean that you couldn't use gel again. It will also mean that the gel isn't "sealed" to your nail properly - if the edge is on your skin, the gel will lift.

Persevere, I love mine now and have saved so much money vs going to the salon!

Another tip - mine weren't lasting very well so I've now bought the Mylee builder gel which I use as an additional layer and it really seems to strengthen the gel. It does mean the removal is a bit trickier though.

I use builder gel then 2 colour coats and the extra strength top coat - mainly CND although do have some blue sky colours
I rub down with Emery pad then soak in acetone using cotton pads and use the plastic clips to keep in place
It bubbles off after 10 minutes or so then I scrape off and redo - sometimes I just top up the builder gel and infil rather than go back to scratch

Thank you all! Really appreciate the replies. I tried again last night and buffed and wiped and tried my best to not overlap and although there's a couple of nails were it's run a little they do look much better! I suppose practise will make perfect 🥰

@Thatginismine

How long do you cure for? 2 blasts on one cost and mine are still sticky with the gel polish that came with itHmm
Cure each coat for 30-60 seconds. The nails stay sticky until you use the prep and wipe liquid!

I love my Mylee kit! I’ve had it for just over a year now and have loads of colours. Started with single colours, then started trying some glitter drag from the cuticle with a sparkly polish. Looks fab.

I’m terrible though and a lot of the time it just peel mine off after a really hot bath. Usually come off in one piece with no damage as long as I’ve used a decent base coat. But I do also have little silicon wraps from Amazon to soak them off. I often double top coat too for extra strength.

@Yellow85 thank you! How long do yours last on?

If I do it well, it can last up to 10 days although my nails grown pretty fast. I also tend to have really hot baths/showers which I find make them a bit soft. Typically I change mine after a week.

Also if I go over a cuticle of have a wee rough bit I just file it down and add extra top coat and it usually stays.

So quick question... if I want to buy blue sky nail
Varnish can I still use my mylee top and base coat? Or is it best to stick to the same brand?
