A more masculine scent for a teenage girl

My 15 year old niece is after a perfume with more of a masculine scent than a feminine floral sweet one. Can anyone recommend one which is £20 or under? I had a brief look in The Body Shop today but they didn't have much. Many thanks.

My sister prefers men's fragrance. David Beckham's Instinct is nice (and quite reasonably priced).

ck one? Or maybe that's too dated now...

I was thinking about that one. I love it, but I don't know if it is dated like you say.

@longtompot perhaps it has reached classic status now!

ALightThatNeverGoesOut · 15/12/2021 19:09

Ckone is definitely not a classic!

I get aftershaves for my sons but I tend to go either really cheap or fairly expensive so I don't know about mid range. For the really cheap we've had success with both Primark and Lidl. Lidl is well known for its dupes and a couple of them are decent. For more spendy Scandal is really nice, all woody but fairly complex so I reckon it would smell good on a girl. You can often get it cheaper at eg the perfume shop, but it's still around the £35 mark.

Really the best thing to do is go somewhere like boots with perfume counter staff who can advise you. I've always found them really helpful in boots and they're not at all arsey about you wanting to keep to budget.

CK One or CK Be, both are lovely and not floral or sweet.

Lovelydovey · 15/12/2021 19:14

I borrow DHs Prada amber pour homme which is lovely. Why not try a sample pack from Perfume Society or Bloom Perfumery - there are lots of unisex fragrances in those.

cocopops · 15/12/2021 19:15

The new Jennifer Lopez one is lovely and not girlie at all - quite musky with a hint of aftershave!

Kinko · 15/12/2021 19:18

Davidoff used to pretty popular and that's more of a fresh scent rather than floral.

Ethelswith · 15/12/2021 19:19

Aramis ?

An oldie but a goodie. It's an aftershaves but was always worn by both sexes

I’d go for anything with sandalwood for a more earthy, masculine and yet pleasant scent.

Lush do a perfume called Lord of Misrule that I don't think is too girly.
It's not necessarily manly but it's lovely

RobertsRadio · 15/12/2021 19:29

I really CK One or what about Davidoff Cool Water.
I really like sandlewood fragrances, they are clean smelling and masculine, there is one by the Body Shop called Arber Eau de Toilette for £16.00 which has good reviews, might be worth checking out.

RobertsRadio · 15/12/2021 19:31

Or you could go proper old school and get her Brut ☺️

girljulian · 15/12/2021 19:34

I love CK One! I wear it and so does DH.

Ahhhhhbisto · 15/12/2021 19:35

Blue jeans. Plus its a very reasonable price!

WaltzingBetty · 15/12/2021 19:36

Davidoff cool water is lovely

SameToo · 15/12/2021 19:38

I use Ghost Deep which I think is quite a musky scent.

seething1234 · 15/12/2021 19:38

My absolute favorite perfume is an Irish brand called Inis - its very light and not flowery. It's a unisex fragrance

PeachMelba78 · 15/12/2021 19:41

I use Obsession for Men but it is quite a strong scent.
