Knee high boots with skinny jeans?

Is this a complete no no? And if not then which ones, brown suede or black leather?

individually they're all fine, but i think theres something off with the outfit combo.... the top is spring/summer, the boots autumn/winter etc
the top is daytime the the boots are evening.....

I also think knee high boots can veer into dated/naff territory.... I dont know the answer and recognise some of the style choices in myself and know its not quite right. A little bit "jeans and a nice top"

Style is not the same as fashion.

Personally I think jeans are the dullest, dreariest, most unimaginative garment on the planet. The OP looks stylish in both pictures and is improving the dullest etc etc garment.

In the case of jeans, I'd say all versions are "dated". They're just a very dull, staple item of clothing. The OP's boots and tops make them less dull.

If you blow up the top its glitzy glamour so to my mind is car to bar top which needs glamorous pants and footwear
