Make up product that make you glow / look alive

I’ve realised that all my make up products are matte and make me look a bit dead / one dimensional. I’d like to add one or two products that bring some life back into my face. Please share the one make up product you use that makes you look glowing, or helps you to look more alive!
Unfortunately I don’t have any any recommendations 🤣

@WeAreTheWeirdosMister

Swap your face powder to Benefit Dandelion powder it's a blush but very light with a glow to it.
I found it far too chunky a glow but maybe I was using a different one? The hourglass ones are good.

I find after about a week of vitamin c I get told I look glowy.

WorryMcGee · 09/12/2021 21:27

Not make up but after discovering these I found I needed far less make up and got compliments on my skin for the first time ever! - Sunday Riley good genes every night and the vitamin C serum in the morning. Pricey but I only just had to repurchase Good Genes and I bought it at the start of August!

Becca backlight

where do you buy the glossier future dew from?

I get it from their website - they deliver to the UK with no customs etc. Their blushers are also brilliant. And their body scrub.

Got it delivered to Ireland and got the primer and oh. My. Wow. If I ever go to the us it'll be the first section I head for in a department store

stayathomer · 09/12/2021 21:55

Interested in this too but limited budget. Anyone have any mid price/low price suggestions please?
Bumping!

They've just opened a shop in London. They don't have many bricks and mortar shops though.

Even better! I'd love them to come to Ireland, there's so much of theirs I want to try!

WingingItSince1973 · 12/12/2021 18:45

Thanks so much and anyone else who has suggested one too x

DedalusBloom · 12/12/2021 18:55

I find working on my skin first helps - vitamin C serum ( currently using No 7, which is fine, used to use Skinceuticals and that is in a different league but so ££££) is what makes my skin look brightest.

I also rate CT Flawless filter. I just use it as a primer and dab it all over under foundation - or mix with foundation depending how quick I'm being.

I only use powder immediately around my nose and between my eyes which is where I'm shiniest. ( thank you Botox!)

Stila lip and cheek stuff used as a blusher and lip oil and I'm good to go.

As I get older ( I'm early 50s) glow is definitely the holy grail!

Benefit high beam

ratussbaguss · 13/12/2021 11:57

I always get compliments on my skin when I'm wearing my By Terry setting powder. It's not shimmery but it's got some kind of radiance that I haven't found as good elsewhere, my Charlotte tilbury products don't do it as well

ArabeI · 13/12/2021 14:43

After reading this thread and seeing Hourglass ambient lighting powder mentioned a couple of times I thought I'd give mine another try (used before and wasn't impressed). I used a light dusting after my By Terry powder and I did notice a subtle glow.

I used ethereal light, which I think is the lightest shade.

I also have some of the Drink Elephant glow-stuff in my shopping basket. So will try that.

MoltonSilver · 13/12/2021 14:59

That glow will come from looking at your skin care more so than your make up. If your face is looking a bit dead an acid toner might be the way to go.

TawnyPippit · 13/12/2021 15:05

Bobbi Brown has a new venture called Jones Road, and they do a miracle balm in several different shades which is extremely glow-y. It’s lovely. The Sunday Times were raving about it yesterday, as the go-to thing for a glowing look and I felt super smug (which probably made me glow a bit more!) Smile

Yes, I started using glycolic acid peel (30%) again a couple of weeks ago and it does make a difference.

I thought vitamin c serum was supposed to help with glow, but I use daily (The Inkey) and haven't noticed any change.
