Footner isn’t working - have I got hooves?

Fallulah · 07/12/2021 22:10

I applied Footner on Saturday night and had glorious visions of peeling swathes of skin off my dry feet to reveal baby soft skin. But, three nights later, not much has actually happened! My feet are more dry than they were before and a big crack has opened up in my heel.

I read a lot before applying the Footner, soaking and drying my feet before putting it on and soaking them a couple of times since but still nothing. Are my feet beyond saving?!

Oooh maybe tomorrow it will all come off in one bit?

Keep going. Soak for as long as you can each night. It’ll be wonderful.

AllTheCakes · 07/12/2021 22:15

You need Flexitol. It will sort out even the worst hooves.

Fozzleyplum · 07/12/2021 22:16

Definitely keep soaking, don't moisturise and don't pick. Give it another 2-3 of days and you'll be peeling.

barbrahunter · 07/12/2021 22:18

It's odd - I have had a zero result with footner sometimes, but on other times, it has worked like it's supposed to. I used it the same way each time...

Sorry OP, my comment is not very helpful but just to say you're not alone.

Fallulah · 07/12/2021 22:34

Have resisted moisturising so far. I’m off tomorrow so will give them another long soak and keep the faith that it will happen!

Mine always takes at least a week to start but always works. I don't soak them.

HappyAsASandboy · 07/12/2021 23:50

The longer it takes to start, the more magnificent it will be Grin

RobertaFirmino · 08/12/2021 00:26

As others have already said, it's too early. Mine can take a week to start as well and they do get really, really dry first. The crack you mention in your heel is encouraging - keep soaking to let water get in there and honest to God, it will be fantastic!

PinkArt · 08/12/2021 00:46

Just wait. Another day or two and your feet will start falling off!

ISpyCobraKai · 08/12/2021 00:52

Definitely wait, it'll happen.

DedalusBloom · 08/12/2021 05:17

And when it does, post photos!

Mercurial123 · 08/12/2021 08:21

Footner took the soft skin but kept the hard. Personally I wouldn't bother again. A decent footfile is better (for me).

ChessieFL · 08/12/2021 08:24

I’ve had the same as barbrahunter - sometimes it’s worked perfectly but the last time I tried it nothing happened at all despite lots of soaking.

CloudyStorms · 08/12/2021 08:25

If you decide to wear really nice fluffy socks to bed or strappy shoes to the office christmas do it will probably happen then!

YourenutsmiLord · 08/12/2021 08:43

DH had an ingrown toe nail - for 20 quid (cheap area of the country) the podiatrist fixed the nail, trimmed the rest and used a type of sander on the hard skin which did a great job.

Herja · 08/12/2021 08:48

Didn't work on me. Did as you have described, OP, then eventually, the medium skin fell off and all the hard skin remained, but with cracks that weren't there before.

I'm pretty sure I do have hooves rather than feet. They need regular trimming (with a foot razor) and filing, rather than moisturiser and peels.

Fallulah · 09/12/2021 19:45

Night 5 update - feet are dry, crispy and rough but there is nothing that I can peel off. Heel crack is ridiculously painful but I don’t want to file/moisturise and ruin the Footner effect if it’s going to come!

OP posts:
Skyll · 09/12/2021 19:52

If they’re dry and crispy the peeling is coming. It can take up to a week. Keep the faith!!

YanTanTetheraPetheraPimp · 09/12/2021 20:10

Mine took a week to begin peeling.

ISpyCobraKai · 09/12/2021 20:48

It'll happen.

RobinPenguins · 09/12/2021 20:50

It didn’t work for me, my hooves are like elephants’. The only thing that tackles mine is a strict pumice stone and flexitime regime (which I need to start up again as I’ve let it slide and they’re horrendous again Sad)

hibeat · 09/12/2021 20:54

Soak and moisturize and keep socks on, it goes off quicker.

SuddenArborealStop · 09/12/2021 20:56

I didn't know about the soaking, mine took 6 nights
I assumed it hadn't worked, went for a swim and my foot pealed off in the water BlushEnvy
