It's not for an evening do, I want to wear it to Christmas things in the daytime and attempt to look slightly offbeat with boots or something. Is it going to work?

skirt

I had to get something new as am busting out of all current clothes. Do you like it?

funky like that girl off
four weddings and a funeral
that's what I'm picturing

FrannyandZooey · 17/12/2007 09:36

ooh I know I know a kimono sort of jumper

(have no idea where to get one)

yes something chic and so on, I am sure that is it 100. Can I look chic with a porky middle?

Hmm GG. See your point, but she was well, ahem, 21 or something. I think the funky look may need to be tailored for the 30 something funky look?

(Oh and how nice you were to go and check your freezer GG last night. I saw that. You were kind and got cold toes out of sheer decency.)

FrannyandZooey · 17/12/2007 09:37

I think the skirt is BLUE really

I think a black or dark brown top? I don't know, you see, this is why I ask MN

FrannyandZooey · 17/12/2007 09:38

LOL at she was 21

are you saying I am NOT

OP posts:
ggirlsbells · 17/12/2007 09:38

how about big black belt

t-shirt the sameish shade as the skirt

cardi either dark colour or clshy colour like red

funky jewellry

FrannyandZooey · 17/12/2007 09:38

I have got a big angora wrap with huge sleeves and no back, like a film star thing

I think may be going too far with taffeta for daytime?

I really like it . Top would need to be a fitted one, unless you're very tall and willowy.

If wearing black boots, then wear a black top, otherwise the boots might look a bit clunky, But I reckon with the brown you could wear most colours. But not black.

T-shirt? T-shirt? T-shirt?

FrannyandZooey · 17/12/2007 09:39

can't wear a belt, have no waist at best of times and am 3 months pg

I like the red cardi thing but I couldn't do it (am 36 and 100 is right )

ggirlsbells · 17/12/2007 09:40

oh I love brown and black together

not a crime in my fashionista book

ahundredtimes · 17/12/2007 09:40

NO, no. Taffeta in day-time is dreamy and completely appropriate. Just need to find right top.

Am confused by the backless angora wrap tbh.

FrannyandZooey · 17/12/2007 09:40

wrap top no good, have ribcage and no waist

yes I may wear a kind of t-shirt, I often do wear a nice skirt and a t-shirt, it sort of works

OP posts:
ggirlsbells · 17/12/2007 09:41

pah 36 is young and funky

tis the new 21

have you not heard

ahundredtimes · 17/12/2007 09:41

I think you could wear a red wrap top perhaps?

FrannyandZooey · 17/12/2007 09:41

erm the wrap, oh it is a shrug I suppose, but very long flowing sleeves

backless at bottom, not at top, sorry

OP posts:
ggirlsbells · 17/12/2007 09:41

you have a rib cage

how very dare you!

Tatties · 17/12/2007 09:41

LOVE the skirt Franny! I would wear with a black long sleeved scoop neck top. Or slash neck. Have you tried them together yet?

FrannyandZooey · 17/12/2007 09:42

I can't wear ANY wrap top, they look appalling, and I can;t pull off a red top with a turquoisey skirt while porky round the middle

OP posts:
ggirlsbells · 17/12/2007 09:42

yes yes yes

red wrap top

with something under for warmth

or norks hanging out in sexy/I don't give a shit look

FrannyandZooey · 17/12/2007 09:42

I haven't even got the skirt yet Tatties in fact it may not even arrive for Christmas

What about dove grey? softer than black, so works better for daytime. Goes well with both brown and black boots.
