I loved that red dress. So stylish.

LadyEloise1 · 11/01/2022 08:56

Samir Hussein the photographer who took
that iconic photo of Harry and Meghan ( in a turquoise dress ) under an umbrella in the rain has posted his favourite 40 photos of Kate on Twitter.
Well worth a look.
Sorry I can't do links.
Perhaps someone could do a link please ?

gluenotsoup · 11/01/2022 09:24

I love the red dress. Everything about it is just right, the cut, fit, colour and length are so flattering

Eaumyword · 11/01/2022 09:37

That red dress is so elegant and a gorgeous colour.

Ninkanink · 11/01/2022 09:45

♥️♥️ That gorgeous red dress!!

I agree the Chanel was fantastic as was the Gucci.

The more I look at the profile portrait the more I like it, just because we’re not used to seeing the side of her face in a pose like that. However I still think they got it wrong on the hair (although it does look beautiful - I’m not knocking her hair or the style!), and I also think it would have looked better if she had been directed to dip her chin the merest amount.

Ninkanink · 11/01/2022 09:47

@KillingMeDeftly goodness so do I! That’s definitely high fashion styling...

I hope this link works for the Samir Hussein tweet mentioned above.

GrouchyKiwi · 11/01/2022 10:32

That photo series by Samir Hussein is lovely. Really shows her personality.

KillingMeDeftly · 11/01/2022 11:05

Those are great photos, I like how animated she gets. I just don't feel like the recent portraits captured that. Then again, do they ever? Apparently Queen Victoria was very lively and fun-loving (at least until Albert died) but you would never tell from her portraits!

CliffsofMohair · 11/01/2022 11:30

@MotherofPearl

Down with coat dresses! Up with Chanel!

Next thread title? Grin

Seconded
KillingMeDeftly · 11/01/2022 11:41

Gucci and Chanel for the win, coat dresses in the bin??

Eaumyword · 11/01/2022 12:11

I'm liking the rhyming on this one!!

@crabb
Thank you for doing that link for me. Thanks

MotherofPearl · 11/01/2022 20:19

CP and Sofia out and about.

I feel something has gone wrong with Sofia's look. I really dislike those long fringes and can't imagine how women who have that style, like Claudia Winkelman, can see properly. I don't like the pink shoes at all and the stiff fabric of the dress doesn't flatter her. And the pale pink lipstick and nail varnish look cheap, though I suppose the whole outfit is meant to have a 60s vibe.

I feel bad for my harsh critique, especially because I know it can be hard to find your style again after having a baby - a third baby at that - but this look is a miss from me.

Thank you for that link to the Hussein photos, there are lots in there that are classic Kate.

I also love that red Preen dress and wish it would come out again.

Maireas · 11/01/2022 20:26

I agree with you, MoP about Sofia - the very long, full fringe isn't flattering. She's a very attractive woman, but it just seems to change the proportions of a lovely face.

OP posts:
paradyning · 11/01/2022 20:29

Oh that's a rare fail by Sofia!

KillingMeDeftly · 11/01/2022 20:30

I don't mind Sofia's dress and shoes, though maybe not together, but to make a fringe like that work work I think you need to have very thick hair like Claudia W.

paradyning · 11/01/2022 21:44

I think it's 4 different looks (fringe, pale lip, dress, shoes) that would work discreetly on their own but not in combination!

gluenotsoup · 11/01/2022 22:28

I like the fringe! I think it probably is slightly to straight over her cheekbones, when a little bit of extra length there would soften it. It’s also still falling into it’s new shape and will look more natural and less gappy in a month or so. She might need it just a touch shorter and heavier, but it does draw attention to her eyes and is less predictable than so many other styles. I also quite like the dress, but not the shoes and lipstick colour.

LadyEloise1 · 11/01/2022 22:39

I like Sofia's fringe and make up but not the dress with those shoes.

gluenotsoup · 11/01/2022 22:47

Dearie me… please excuse the millions of mistakes in my posts. The teacher in me is cringing but the tired mum in me doesn’t care🤦🏻‍♀️😳😂

BeaLola · 12/01/2022 01:14

Agree re the fringe - that length would annoy me - I would forever be touching my brow line brushing it away

On the + side Max had sent her sone earrings!

Hels20 · 12/01/2022 06:38

@BeaLola / your comment made me laugh! I had to go back to picture to check.

What a lovely thread this is.

I agree - dress is all wrong. Sofia is so pretty
