@KillingMeDeftly

I remember Trinny and Susannah saying years ago that v-necks are much more flattering if you have a large bust and that high necks are best for the small of chest. Obviously nobody has to follow these "rules" but the v-neck on Eugenie's green dress really suits her. I love Me + Em!
That’s pretty obvious though.

I remember that too! I had their book. I always have that at the back of my mind when I try to buy high necks!

I also had Trinny&Susannah's book and pored over it endlessly.
I also had the Vogue guide to Beauty&Style in the 1980's and oh my gosh, that was my bible. Not adhered to in real life of course, as I went for any trend going regardless - velvet knickerbockers, the Kids from Fame aerobic look, bright satin shirts, Doc Martens and then basically black until I turned 18!Grin

www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-10313173/Queen-Maxima-Netherlands-dons-stylish-dress-visits-coffee-shops-caterers.html
Here's Maxima, out visiting businesses today, learning about how they're coping with covid.
Brown tweed looking dress, black cape, black handbag - somewhat dull.
Come on, Max!! At least a mahoosive brooch or necklace, if not a hat we can see from space.
I personally believe that brown should be banned for use in clothing, but that's just me.

Oh I like that outfit! As always, I do love her, but think her hair looks much better tied back or maybe a little bit blunter cut to the ends?

Maireas · 15/12/2021 17:40

I just find it a bit dull. But I don't get brown clothing choices.
I agree about her hair. She needed a massive orange pringle hat on top!

Adore her slouchy boots

Eaumyword · 15/12/2021 17:58

I agree she needs a big old pringle hat and oodles of gulls egg sized jewels!Grin

I think (little) Prince Charles could have a rival for the title of thread mascot in Queen Jetsun's younger son!

Beautiful @paradyning. I LOVE seeing those type of events.
One of the things I like about Camilla is she just gets on with it and doesn't make the event about herself. She clearly has a nice rapport with children and what an exciting trip this must make for the children. Beautiful decorations too!
She really suits pale colours-particularly from a warm white palette.

StCharlotte · 15/12/2021 22:48

If Max is visiting "coffee shops", that would explain a LOT Grin

(And yes her hair needs a good trim but I've been saying that for years)

CruellaDeVilla · 15/12/2021 23:52

Max is swoony isnt she?

Onprozacandmyhighhorse · 16/12/2021 07:49

@paradyning Oh my goodness, that is wonderful! I think I'm in love with her equerry ❤️. Camilla is so lovely with the youngsters and their parents. What a special day for them.
She really suits that winter white dress and looked very comfortable and happy and I love that she's wearing her favourite black boots.
Thank you for posting this. It's marvellous to see children surrounded by so much love.

paradyning · 16/12/2021 09:30

The equerry was rather lovely!

MotherofPearl · 16/12/2021 11:23

I agree about Queen Jetsun's youngest son - though the whole family are exceptionally good looking!

Thanks for sharing the links about Camilla's visit; really lovely to see. She seems to have a very natural warmth to her which I think puts people at ease.

I see the Dutch royals have had some bad press for hosting a party for 21 people for Princess Amalia's birthday last week, contravening the Covid restrictions there. They seem to have had the party outdoors and guests had to be tested, but they've been made to apologise after a social media kerfuffle.

MotherofPearl · 16/12/2021 11:26

HMQ hosting the Sultan of Oman and his wife. Lovely brooch and I think the colour of the dress suits her, though I feel a little alarmed seeing how much weight she's lost - she's absolutely tiny.

Her Maj is looking less robust in those photos, she is suddenly looking her age.

Her diamond and sapphire brooch was commissioned from Garrard & Co by Prince Albert. He gave it to Victoria on their wedding night, 10th February 1840.
It was one of Victoria's favourite pieces and it's seen in several of her portraits.

The huge sapphire is believed to be from Burma, because of its size and deep intense colour.

MotherofPearl · 16/12/2021 13:23

I knew we could count on you to give us information about the brooch @AdaColeman, thanks!

SeaRabbit · 16/12/2021 13:30

There's a pearl attached so I think it's the Russian brooch:

AdaColeman · 16/12/2021 14:54

I can't see a close up of yesterday's brooch, so I can't see the dark gold filigree work surrounding the stone of the Russian cluster brooch, but you may well be right SeaRabbit!
How fab must it be to have so many sapphire brooches to choose from? I wouldn't mind just one!

LookslovelyinSpringtime · 16/12/2021 15:07

The Queen is becoming unrecognisable. She's lost so much weight and looks so bowed now.

Feliz Navidad!
One of the better royal Christmas cards, imo. Leonor and Sofia looking lovely. All relaxed and smiley Smile
