Snag tights - how are they supposed to fit?

Hello! So I've been eyeing Snag tights for a long time as most tights dig in at my waist (I do admit I have a somewhat sensitive waistline and can't do tight clothes around my waist like other women seem to be able to do), but I've had good luck here and there with some tights so I'm not a lost cause.

Anyway, I was seduced by the raving reviews both on MN and other platforms and ordered some tights over the weekend, which arrived today. And they dig in at the waist.

I'm 5.4" and usually a size 10, 12 for some jeans, but mostly an S/M, but I'm also pregnant so as recommended I ordered a size up and went for a D. Looking at the pictures of other women wearing a size D I got the impression those models were larger/taller than I, but that it should be fine given my future bump... well, I'm 18 weeks right now, I have a small bump that's mostly bloat and I doubt size D is going to fit me in a few weeks (even today I could not stand the pressure for longer than 15 minutes).

I emailed them with some fit questions and photos but so far haven't gotten a response, so I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this? Did I get the wrong size?

Photo attached of me pre-pregnancy, but those jeans still fit me (expect for little bump) so you'll get an idea of my size.

A baby bump is nothing like being a generally larger size. Because of the pressure off the uterus and your stretching ligaments it feels horrible having anything too tight over it. Buy proper pregnancy tights for pregnancy and give Snag a go post partum.

I can't recommend on snag - I've also been eyeing them up but haven't bitten yet

Hello! Oh boy I didn't know this thread had continued to stay active BlushI chuckled at the person who pointed out I'm wearing different shoes, I was just trying to figure out how the jeans looked with different shoes and that's why I took the photo Grin

An update on this: I contacted customer support and they will be sending a pair in a larger size (I assume E) free of charge, so that's been lovely of them! I'll let you know how I get on with them.

I also went to run some errands wearing the size D the other day and they did stretch a little bit after a while, although still too tight for my liking. I have now washed them so I'm curious to see if that will make any difference!

I am 5'7" and a small size 10 and I wear a D as, like you OPI have sensory issues around waistbands. I should wear a C according to their sizing but I found it uncomfortable. Hopefully an E will suit you better. I currently have a cream pair with scandi inspired fir trees on them, and I absolutely love them. 👍😊

These are my absolute favourite ones. Well tied with Hallow-queen

@Roystonv

Sorry however good they are their recent choice of models I have found offensive, what do others think?
I'm with you @Roystonv Just seen their "care bear" anime paedo fetish range. Gross.
PenelopeVonDelius · 24/11/2021 17:36

Are they maternity tights or just the normal ones? I wouldn't write them off tbh. I couldn't wear tights at all when I was pregnant. They just rolled off.

AnnieSnap · 24/11/2021 18:52

@ThereWeAreThen79 they are gorgeous. Great taste!

NigelWithTheBrie79 · 24/11/2021 22:22

I love those tights ThereWeAreThen. 😍

Thighdentitycrisis · 25/11/2021 08:37

I’m 5’6 and a 10 - 12 I can’t decide on C or D
I have quite long legs

Aww thank you Nigel and Annie. Here's another pair.

I don't think it's an issue with Snag rights in general - more they aren't designed for pregnancy . Get some specific maternity ones .

irene88 · 25/11/2021 18:28

The reason I ordered them is that on the website they claim they can be worn during pregnancy!

Blimey - have just seen the Care Bear range. I'm not sure I'd call it offensive, but it's certainly.....odd. I wonder who it's really aimed at?

I personally do find it offensive... I'm not sure if I can exactly articulate why, but it just reminds me of the "MAP" anime types on twitter etc. It just looks like fetishising of childhood things. Creepy.
nordica · 26/11/2021 08:31

I find their 80 denier tights the softest and most true to size. The thicker and thinner denier are sometimes tighter.

I'm 5ft3 size 12/14 and usually wear C in the 80 denier and D in the others. I find the waistband comes up really high if I want to so you could maybe wear it over your bumb?

You should definitely be able to sell them in the buy/sell/trade groups on FB even used and at least get some of your money back.

ChurchlightJane · 26/11/2021 08:39

Beware of problems though because their customer service section is not great.I ordered ten pairs of tights usual size etc. Normally love the fit but every one of these latest ones sag at the crotch and wrinkle round the ankle on first wear. I emailed asking for replacements and eighteen emails later, I am still without tights for the winter because customer service is so ineffective.

MissLucyEyelesbarrow · 26/11/2021 09:28

I certainly don't know any adult woman (or girl over the age of 6) who wants to dress like that, @beastlyslumber. Really weird. I think I'll be giving them a pass from now on. Pity, as I like their footless tights.

Yeah it's almost as if people have different styles and tastes. Really weird like.

You're entitled to think that there is nothing odd about portraying an adult woman like this. I am entitled to disagree.

I'm guessing that someone who dresses like that couldn't give a flying fuck what you think love. Its not to my particular taste either but I think you will find many companies have a care bear range aimed at adults besides Snag. Boohoo and Koi footwear for starters.

ThereWeAreThen79 · 26/11/2021 13:13

Yes I bought ds a pair of boots with a Teddy purse on the sides. He wears tights under ripped jeans(the blue care bear snags) too. Can somebody alert the church elders?! 😱

beastlyslumber · 26/11/2021 13:18

People can wear what they want, I guess, but adults wearing little girl clothes is creepy to me. Makes me think of "stefonknee" and other so-called "MAP"s. Maybe that's unfair, and the paedos have given adult-care-bear types a bad name.

Looneytune253 · 26/11/2021 13:21

I raved about snag tights but I must admit I don't find them as comfy as I used to. Prob a multitude of reasons (not all snags fault, mainly my own) but I wear my popsy tights over and over now. They really are stretchy over the tummy. They do gather a bit round the ankles at times but I prefer those now

ThereWeAreThen79 · 26/11/2021 13:28

The thing is Beastly my ds is not only gay but also trans and my dd is lesbian. I welcome their friends with crazy and colourfuI dress senses into my home. I don't think I've laid eyes on a conservatively dressed young adult in years. My kids are very aware of how certain styles have been hijacked over time. Their responses are to go bigger and better. My ds can't stand Bronies for instance.
