Mine is the REN jelly cleanser, I’m a lazy caaah and I hate washing my face (don’t judge me I DO ACTUALLY wash my face, it’s just a chore) but this cleanser makes my face feel like a cloud Grin it just feels so soft and “cleansy”

Tell me your go to products?

@CookieDoughKid yes I know it will take a few months and I’m all in for riding it out, it just smells yuck and doesn’t feel as nice to put on!
Plus, now I’ve used it a few times a larger amount is being dispensed, I think the first time just needed a few pumps to get the air out.
Yes I’ve used retinol quite a lot before, I know not to go too near eyes, nose, mouth etc.

Skin and Me is my game changer, I have suffered from acne all my life until I started last year and my skin is perfect. They definitely don't give everyone the same prescription as my sister and sister in law signed up and got different prescriptions to me. Absolutely love the stuff.

allofthecheese · 19/11/2021 21:16

Whamisa oil cleanser, smells amazing and leaves my skin feeling super clean

echt · 20/11/2021 08:33

50+ sunscreen.

I'll cheat and add Nivea soft.

They both do the job on my uncomplicated 65+ year-old skin.

DancingLady · 22/11/2021 15:44

Hate to say it, but Botox. Had a small amount on my forehead a couple of weeks ago and I look 5 years younger.

relatehelp · 22/11/2021 18:23

@CookieDoughKid I'm on day 3 of dermatica- I've just been cleansing and applying after normal cleanse tone routine, then wait five mins and then add moisturiser - is that wrong?

Delatron · 22/11/2021 18:44

Dermatica is great. I didn’t get any peeling but had been using Tretin-a for a while before. I’ve learnt perfumed products are not good for my skin so no issues with the lack of smell.

Delatron · 22/11/2021 18:45

It does take a long time to see a difference though. You need to persevere and skin may look worse before it gets better.

relatehelp · 22/11/2021 19:49

@Delatron what is your routine with it in terms of skincare steps...

Delatron · 22/11/2021 19:57

@relatehelp

I cleanse and dry skin. I put some moisturiser (Cerave night) on my chin as that’s the only place that has peeled so I don’t put tret there) and eye cream (Is clinical) to protect eyes. Then a few pumps of the Dermatica.
I don’t wait 30 mins but I don’t have sensitive skin.

I don’t put any moisturiser on top though many people do. If you have dry skin you may want to layer moisturiser under or over.

I do this about 5 times a week. Then have a couple of nights off.

I did start with Medik 8 Crystal retinal for a year before I moved up. So skin was very used to Retinoids. You may need to be more careful and only use a few times a week.

PiscesSt · 22/11/2021 20:05

Mine has to be Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation- tried lots of others but this is the best. Lasts me ages too as I don’t use loads due to it being full coverage

Glassofshloer · 22/11/2021 20:12

Nivea Soft - been using it since I was about 12

Nothing compares!

Glassofshloer · 22/11/2021 20:12

Oh and Clinique chubby stick blusher

SpookyScarySkeletons · 22/11/2021 20:18

Il Makiage foundation. It's way more pricey than I would normally pay but it just makes my skin look so good! Worth every penny.

Bananaman123 · 22/11/2021 20:19

Difficult one but I think Elemis rose cleansing balm.

I shouldn't read these threads, just gives me a new shopping list

state22 · 22/11/2021 20:23

Thanks @Delatron

TheChosenTwo · 22/11/2021 21:30

@PiscesSt I agree, I use probably a tenth of a 5p size, literally just a tiny smidge, it goes so far! I prefer it sheered out, provides me the first amount of coverage. Can still see skin through but evens out my complexion. First few times I tried it I used a full pump and I looked like I was wearing a mask, I then had to apply so much additional makeup to make myself look human again!
Much prefer a lighter touch on myself, it’s one of my favourites.

CookieDoughKid · 24/11/2021 17:18

relatehelp hey, in your routine I'd skip the toning bit. A really simplified routine is best. So just cleanse but make sure your cleanser doesn't have salicylic acid. Not until you have built up tolerance. I use Aldi's vit C hot cloth cleanser as it's really gentle and cheap. I would alternate with Elemis pro cleansing balm a few times a week when I feel my skin was flaking due to the effects of the retinol. So cleanse, then moisturise (again very simple moisturizer with minima active ingredients. I use Khiels facial moisturizer with no spf at night). Then wait 30mins then apply Dermatica. In morning after cleansing, apply an spf moisturizer. That's what I used to do first 2 months. The 3rd month I was able to skip moisturiser in the evening. Hope that helps!

CookieDoughKid · 24/11/2021 17:20

Delatron what eye cream do you use out of interest?

Delatron · 25/11/2021 14:46

@CookieDoughKid
I have to confess I use an expensive one but I swear by it. IS Clinical Youth Eye Complex.

I justify it as I don’t actually use a moisturiser (just an SPF) and my night cream is Cerave which is about £8 so it all balances out. (In my mind!)

CookieDoughKid · 25/11/2021 20:18

@Delatron. Thank you very much and I will definitely have a Google a bit more later. I think it's worth the price!!

CookieDoughKid · 25/11/2021 20:23

@Delatron do I put the eye cream on at the same time as my Dermatica? How do you use it in the evening? The reviews are amazing.Thx Viv

Delatron · 25/11/2021 20:52

@CookieDoughKid

I put the eye cream on first. Then I pop Dermatica on and take it up to just below my eyes. Some of it will migrate. This works for me now.

When I first started on Dermatica I did have issues with dryness and irritation around the eyes so used to have to add Vaseline ‘goggles’ for a while! To stop the Dermatica migrating. Then my skin got used to it.

Just telling you this as it takes a while to get used to!

LoveLabradors · 25/11/2021 21:50

@CookieDoughKid I would be thrilled with your before skin never mind your after! You have beautiful skin.
I love erborian bb cream - it does something magical! I’ve tried so many vitamin c creams but always go back to balance me vit c.

CookieDoughKid · 26/11/2021 07:17

Thanks @Delatron, I'm sold!
@LoveLabradors appreciate ;)
