Quick, what's good in Primark?

My last meeting in a big City is cancelled, and all that lies between me and the train is a huge Primark.

Likely my only trip this year. I don't have kids.

What would you buy? Wink

My friends top breastfeeding tip was to buy a load of the spaghetti strap tops- they’re adjustable straps. You wear any type of top over them, then to feed lift up the normal top and yank down the vest top, hey presto boob with no other flesh on show. Same tops are now on second baby, I wear them every day.

A lot of their stuff is great for the price, but I feel I have a civic duty to mention that I once bought a Primark skirt and it inexplicably developed a massive tear while I was out one evening, suffice it to say that the regulars at my local now know what kind of knickers I wear. Blush (Good job I wasn't wearing a thong...)

I got some really cosy fleece-lined leggings.

Lipstick for 90p. The plum one is fabulous. The clean cotton reed diffuser smells like Ananya from the body shop circa 1994. Such a blast from the past! I also rate their high dernier tights, underwear, vest tops, pj's, ballet pumps, sandals and bikinis. I have pj's I bought 15 years ago that are still going strong

Only pyjamas

Opaque tights
Pajamas
Lounge wear
Dressing gowns
Leggings
Basic t shirts
Oval cotton pads
Foundation
Socks
Pants
Jeans can be good but need to be tried on.

Have just bought Snuddie hoodies for everyone in an effort to keep the heating lower. So far everyone loves them Smile

Nothing. They are unethical in where they get their clothing made. Much of it is, still made by slave labour in dangerous factories in the far and middle East where women and children work for almost nothing.

I went to Primark for the first time a couple of years ago and since then I've developed a love affair with:

  1. Their bralettes. I've had similar pieces from other brands at 12x the price and they were nowhere near as great as Primark's. They are supremely comfortable but don't squash your boobs and give you a nice silhouette.
  1. Their fleecy leggings. They're are unrivalled when it comes to warmth and cosiness. They also wash well and can even be worn with dresses and boots.
nannybeach · 07/11/2021 20:21

A few years ago next and some other high street stores were found to use unethical work practices.

Pyjamas, cotton wool pads, bed socks, the more premium pillow cases, towels etc. Scrunchies and hair clips are great. I have a couple of tops I've had ages too.

@Aderyn21

I really rate their duvet covers/pillow cases/sheets. Wash well and don't go bobbly like the overpriced Next ones I bought! Have also had really good pyjamas which have lasted for ever. People knock Primark as disposable fashion but I've had so much stuff which has lasted years and is still going strong.
Yep, I have a sweatshirt that was part of a tracksuit originally bought for me to wear for school PE in year 8 or 9 I think. It was outsized luckily because I am still wearing it in my 40s.

Right now I am wearing a Primark fleece bought in 2003. Still as presentable as a zip neck fleece can be.

As for what to buy, the fleecey furry leggings are an absolute must have. The tights are good too.

Yes! This is always my top tip. Especially as I was more worried about revealing my grim post birth stomach than my boobs.
I still wear those style Primark tops everyday as a vest, and sleep in them instead of a PJ top. They last for years.

DD has a Primark jumper from the charity shop, it is the most complimented item of clothing that she has.

I buy the mens xs slim fit tshirts in every colour and live in them. I've also bought a couple of really nice skirts there.

Forgottenwhatsleepis · 16/11/2021 15:01

@Coniferhedge

For when it’s really cold, I love their fleece lined opaque tights.
Yes yes 100% to their fleece lined leggings!
