Hope nobody minds me starting the next thread but we'd hit 1000 posts!

F&M has arrived and something in it smells fantastic. I also got the note about the replacement product but I'm fairly sure that's the product that I'd seen advertised so it doesn't make any difference to me.

M&S is great value, as long as you'll use the stuff. I can always use an eyeliner so for me the two eyeliners more or less justified the £40 spend. Or that's how I justified it to myself anyway...

The £300 thing is for the drama! I bought mine in store, and it's quite funny because they scan it and it comes up as £300, then comes down to £30 as they scan your other items. It's on the receipt too But as long as you also get £40 of the right accompanying items, it's fine.

The CEW box is great value!

Fortunately there are several products that I wouldn't want (the eyeshadow pallets, setting powders, eyeliner, primer, lip oil, roller ball - plus I already have that mascara in my stash). Otherwise i'd be tempted...

They never did. I got it last year and it was amazing but I had to use a mail forwarding service. That was fine at the time as the UK was still in the EU so no double VAT but not an option now as you have to pay UK and EU VAT plus the processing fee.

The CEW is excellent value, unfortunately not for me as neither as the eye palettes would suit. Antonia Burrell stuff is absolutely lovely. All the eye palettes in advents, edits and GWPs all seem to be very reddy brown based colours, they look awful on me but clearly they must suit a lot of people to be constantly placed in them.

I ended up sending my M&S calendar back. The tin arrived damaged with a sizeable dent in it and after opening a few doors it became apparent that more than one item had broken and leaked throughout. They gave me a quick refund though

So now I’m opening H&B this month instead and I am so impressed with it so far. It’s amazing!

I received the espa. The outer box that the advent was badly damaged and I felt I should open the advent and each door to see if the products is ok. I have to say, I get what are youtubers saying about full sizes but in the same time, the sizes in this advent are ok size, they are minis and not a sample size. 7ml eye cream is half size and if you want to try a brand it's great way to do it. I wouldn't pay full price, but for 124 euro I think it's worth it. For that price they also send 3 benefit minis - 24 hr brow setter is favorite of mine not sire about the other two but happy to try them

The espa box is most luxurious feel - it's really nice

Glossybox are now doing a 'bundle offer' of their standard advent calendar plus the Grazia one for £130, saving 34, they say. Code is ADVENTBUNDLE. If people are looking for calendars as gifts for others this might appeal.

I have Espa and Space NK.

I've had a hard month so I maaaay have opened space nk and tried everything! Really happy with this year - I won't say too much but a lot more skincare and less makeup which I prefer personally

Have any of the opening threads been set up yet? Don't want to miss out! I'm opening F&M this month already and missing the chit chat, but looking forward to everyone else opening there's and joining in.
Also have the Harrods one....

Oh I am getting excited now about December and the threads, might even try starting some….

Have set up a Space NK one, felt the M&S one is so long running there may be an etiquette I am unaware of….

@supadupapupascupa I've also opened F&M this month but have put everything back in the drawers so I can participate in the December thread!

@CountryCob In threads I've been on in previous years there has generally been etiquette of no midnight opening in case someone opens e.g. the 6th at 11.45pm and someone else is just about to open the 7th and spoils it for them. Think it's good to agree a time when 'spoilers' can be posted. Even if it is midnight, just so people know not to click onto the thread after that time if they're not up to date with their calendar.

Countrycob may have meant that there might be an equivalent to Reastie with the M&S advent calendar threads. Good to have a reminder of etiquette though.
