Is available on Thursday in store and online apparently.

@FreshFaceTime

So I tried the wonder balm and it's definitely not for me. Anyone fancy a freebie?

I'll take it if that's okay??

rosegoldwatcher · 08/12/2021 08:45

Just tried the Pure day Cream and it feels lovely - no stinging or itching! Think I might order the night cream in the new year.

Previous days' offerings will go to my sons. The elder has a mane of wild hair, in need of smoothing and the younger always has a Lipsil about his person.

Countmeout · 08/12/2021 08:47

I’ve been away for a few days, opened all this morning. Very pleased as I will use all of those. Haven’t tried today’s but will give it a go when I finish what I’m currently using. I have to say I’m glad I got the calendar this year. I’m pleased so far.

FreshFaceTime · 08/12/2021 09:18

@MrsWidgerysLodger fab! - I've sent you a PM :)

DobbyTheHouseElk · 08/12/2021 09:22

Love this cream. Much prefer it to the l’Occitane one in the small pot.

I got this in a previous advent calendar and have used it from then on. It’s a fabulous day cream and the price is amazing. The night cream is good, but a much thinner cream.

simpledeer · 08/12/2021 09:38

I absolutely love this cream. Bought a pot on the strength of getting it in previous calendar. It smells heavenly and is a lovely consistency.

I tend to use it in the summer more than winter and have other moisturisers to use up but am very happy with todays offering.

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 08/12/2021 09:41

So pleased (again!) with today's gift. I was discussing advent calendars with a friend last night and mentioned that I have this one and she was bit meh about it, saying "I only ever buy bras and pants in M&S" she was really surprised to hear that it's full of branded beauty products she didn't realise that M&S stock other brands. She was also really impressed with the price of it. So I reckon she'll treat herself next year! This is my 4th year of the calendar and I absolutely love it. I also always buy the beauty box in the summer if they have one. I think the fact that there is a variety in brand as well as product type is a really plus.

NumaNumaYay · 08/12/2021 09:57

Just found my old tube of Wonder Balm from several years ago that clearly I didn't use up!

Interested re today's. I'm always looking for a non-greasy, light moisturiser with SPF since my favourite got discontinued - this looks promising?

LifeInAHamsterWheel yes my mum hadn't realised M&S aren't just M&S St Michael beauty products! They got in on the 'cult' beauty market at a really good time, I think - well it was around the time I got interested in trying a few decent products and was reading up on them etc. I think if you've a passing interest in beauty products and brands you'll know about it but I think the world at large probably doesn't.

I still want to get the Pur primer that was in the calendar one year - it was great but don't think I'll be finding it in this year's? (Haven't had a proper look but a glance-over...)

mynameiscalypso · 08/12/2021 10:04

Like PP I definitely prefer today's offering to the L'Occitane one. I tend to use separate SPF and moisturiser so that element isn't much of a win for me but I quite like this. Not enough to repurchase I don't think at the moment (unless it magically undoes the damage that a lack of sleep due to a poorly toddler does) but it's nice enough. Quite keen for some make up at some point soon!

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 08/12/2021 10:08

Looks like I'll actually have to give this a go - I just shrugged "huh, generic moisturiser" at it and put it in the cupboard!

FireandBrimstone · 08/12/2021 10:19

For those feeling a bit 'meh' about today's Pure moisturiser I echo the positive comments here - it's beautiful, although possibly a bit rich for a day moisturiser, so works well as a night one too. I got it in a previous calendar and went on to restock. One of my favourite moisturisers from any brand.

TokyoSushi · 08/12/2021 10:21

Another one really pleased with today's offering, I'm loving the calendar so far!

DobbyTheHouseElk · 08/12/2021 10:39

Marks and Spencer have always been ahead of the beauty game. In the 90’s their Formula body range was a total dupe of Clairins.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 08/12/2021 10:39

Bugger autocorrect fail. Clarins.

10littlepirates · 08/12/2021 12:37

I agree with others that prefer today's moisturiser to the L'Occitaine one. I used it this morning and my skin feels lovely. Normally I use oil of Olay light day cream and this feels like a thicker/better version. Only day one of using it but it's on my possible rebuy list along with the cleanser, which I love. I have very fine straight hair so the hair products not for me so far.

Dogscanteatonions · 08/12/2021 13:17

Love today's moisturiser but omg that nail polish from the other day! I thought the colour was horrid but thought I'd try out anyway - not only does it look very old fashioned but it's chipped to buggery already and I only put it on last night

AnnieSnap · 08/12/2021 14:20

It’s great that it’s vegan

Bavarois · 08/12/2021 16:18

@Dogscanteatonions I actually really like the nail polish! I did two coats and a top coat and think it's a lovely colour. I wouldn't have said it's old fashioned, it's festive. And I did it on Saturday and it's lasted really well, much better than most other polishes I've tried. You can't please everyone though, at least there's hopefully something for everyone over the 24 days. I'm not fussed on today's moisturiser but I'll give it a go.

FreshFaceTime · 08/12/2021 16:48

I slapped a coat of the nail varnish on over a red I was already wearing and I really like it. It's lasted well even though the varnish beneath it was a bit iffy and I didn't bother with a top coat. I like the festive shimmer it has added to my toes with hardly any effort. And I'll only ever wear it at Christmas so it should last a while.

Helpstopthepain · 08/12/2021 17:37

I didn’t think I would like the varnish but it looks really nice on.

Lowlifeinhighplaces · 08/12/2021 18:13

Put the varnish on today for a Christmas Lunch..I like it, but its more of an orange red rather than a red red IYKWIM, but maybe next time I may put it over a darker red, I am always mixing up nail colours like this.

CountryCob · 08/12/2021 18:41

@Lowlifeinhighplaces I agree it is a tomato orange type red. I got away with one coat today and thought the coverage was really good, I don’t have a light metallic red and happy with this and the calendar in general

latedecember1963 · 08/12/2021 19:32

Oh, I remember the Pur Primer too, NumaNumaYay. It was gorgeous, wasn't it? I managed to buy it once but then it never seemed to be in store again.

Today's offering sounds promising from lots of your comments. It's worth £16 which brings our total up to £87.76. We're almost a third of the way through and I tjink on the whole the 1st week has been pretty good.

LizzieSiddal · 08/12/2021 19:44

I had a bit of an accident today with the wonder balm. I go swimming several times week so put it in my bag to use afterwards. I didn’t have my glasses on and mistook it for a face moisturiser and slavered it all over my face 🤣
Unfortunately it didn’t leave my face smooth or frizz free.

Lipsandlashes · 08/12/2021 19:59

🤣🤣 @LizzieSiddal
I’ve just gifted the Wonder Balm to MiL - she was thrilled.
