I think we have at least one tiara each, according to my spreadsheet. Some have parures. Any newbies welcome, log your choices.

I also thought William looked very handsome in his uniform 😍

paradyning · 14/11/2021 12:12

Charles looked like her was going to burst into tears after laying the first wreath. Did anyone else click that.
Kate just looks Kate.
The hat doesn't match the style of the coat.
Princess Alexandra and Camilla looked lovely. It feels remiss to say more really.

*clock

Eaumyword · 14/11/2021 12:13

I love Kate's outfit and Camilla's too. I get the slight Sally Army reference, but think she's slim and elegant enough to pull it off.
Shame HMQ couldn't attend and also wonder if it was back pain, why she couldn't have sat for the ceremony with a rug round her knees (on a throne?!) However, she is 95 and it's brisk weather and it could be something not so queeny like a UTI so I'm sure she's wrapped up nice and warm.

KillingMeDeftly · 14/11/2021 12:14

All Kate's and Camilla's Remembrance Sunday looks. I see today's hat is one Camilla has worn many times before.

Thanks, I do love a montage!
Fave Kate looks are 2011, 2018 and 2019 (minus the front detail) and fave Camilla looks are 2010, 2011 and 2012.

AdaColeman · 14/11/2021 12:21

Fabulous hat from Camilla! I always like to see her pearls too, they were her Mother’s IIRC.
I think ostrich feathers were a typical Victorian/Edwardian mourning accessory. I know my grandmother had a hat box full of them ready to be added to hats when required.

KillingMeDeftly · 14/11/2021 12:23

I can't take credit for the montages @Eaumyword, I only saw them on Twitter! Camilla's 2013 ensemble is a bit unusual. I don't think it can be from the balcony, maybe it was another related event.

justasking111 · 14/11/2021 12:36

Love 2019 coat on Kate, otherwise not memorable. I'm glad they're cosseting the queen. I'm under chiropractor at the moment again a bad back is no fun at any age

eggandonion · 14/11/2021 12:43

If the queen has sprained her back, i hope it's horse related and shes just doing whatever she wants at her age.
If it's a uti, they are nasty, and lounging around watching loose women is all you can do.
Poor Charles, such a long time as heir, this year must be stressful.

Serenster · 14/11/2021 12:45

I wonder if Camilla and Charles were on tour somewhere in 2013? That definitely wasn’t at the Cenotaph.

I do admire Camilla’s commitment to big hats, she really pulls them off. And II like Kate’s slimline, very military inspired looks from the last three years - I imagine we’ll see them often repeated for this service now.

I also liked her Eponine dress from last night. I think all her Eponine looks are nice - except for the bright green a-line dress with eyes at waist level. That one I’d hide in the back of her wardrobe!

She did visit her horses this week, might have decided on a gentle trot around who knows

It certainly would take a lot for HM to miss this. It's sacrosanct for her.
Get well vibes to Lilibet.

Thought all the royals looked especially pained today. There is the fact that PP has recently passed though, and that will be making this RD even more sombre than usual.

Kate always looks immaculate on these occasions imo.

justasking111 · 14/11/2021 16:03

Diana's pearls featured this weekend, bracelet and earrings. Has the three row choker ever been worn??

Laiste · 14/11/2021 16:57

Here is a link to Diana's pearl necklaces. So many! I adore the 7 strand with the huge sapphire.

Laiste · 14/11/2021 17:00

Chokers: looks like there's a 2, three 3's, a 5, a 7 a couple of 11's and loads more!

justasking111 · 14/11/2021 17:09

She has worn the 4 strand to Philip's funeral.

Now Where Did I Put My Starter Tiara?
Eaumyword · 14/11/2021 17:33

I love that photo of Kate at Philip's funeral, she looks so elegant.
Does anyone know if Diana privately owned all her jewellery (eg her pearl collection) and therefore if William and Harry and by default, Kate and Meghan own them, or whether they were the property of the crown? I'm sure I saw Meghan wearing the absolutely stunning aquamarine ring Diana wore post divorce and Kate wears pearls and of course the sapphire engagement ring.
Think I read that Harry&William swapped their original choices (watch and engagement ring?)

Maireas · 14/11/2021 17:54

As I understand it, on her divorce, Diana returned the royal jewellery to the Queen. Among the pieces was the Cambridge Lover's Knot tiara. Also other items from the Queen's personal collection, including several necklaces and earrings. What she kept (and bequeathed) was her private collection. Some pieces I know were given to her sisters and friends as well as to Wills and Harry.

Just caught up with the news and saw the pictures of Charles at the Cenotaph. He looked very upset. It must have been hard for him today thinking about the service his dad and great uncle gave during the war in the Navy. They must all miss Prince Philip dreadfully and this was such a huge part of his life.
It seemed very strange not to see the Queen there today and Charles must have felt it too and it's his birthday as well!
Happy Birthday Charles x

news.thediamondstore.co.uk/celebrity/royals/best-princess-dianas-rings-and-jewellery-where-are-they-now/

Cant do a proper link to this, but it's the first in the list. Some info on a few key pieces. Interesting on no.9 it states that:

^In a special letter that Diana had written in the eventuality that she would pass away, she expressed a wish to leave all her jewellery to her two sons’ future wives. The letter apparently reads: “I would like you to allocate all my jewellery to the share to be held by my sons, so that their wives may, in due course, have it or use it.” She had added that “I leave the exact division of the jewellery to your discretion.”^

Eaumyword · 14/11/2021 18:21

Thank you both, I've just enjoyed 10min reading all about the jewellery. I covet those Collingwood pearl earrings and the aquamarine ring!

claracluck1978 · 14/11/2021 19:38

I don't know how long I have been missing out on these threads but I am absolutely delighted to have stumbled on you all today!

I hate to ask on a first appearance on the thread but has anyone bagsied Queen Mary's honeysuckle tiara?

Maireas · 14/11/2021 20:29

Evening, @claracluck1978! Glad you've joined us!
I'll have to consult the spreadsheet about the tiara.
