But, I don’t like Meg’s hair in that Croydon facelift style, and I thought that the poppy looked a bit silly.

MM - loved the red colour, style of dress didn't do it for me though. It just didn't look quite right - would have preferred something more slinky and fitted. The bodice of the dress just wasn't right.
KM - god I have an irrational hatred of that shirt!! I'm guessing she was going for a military look given the engagement.
QM - green lace evening dress is stunning!
Max - fabulous as always! Her blue aero dress is quite something 😆
The sleeveless look on M-M is a bit strange , but good to see her out and about and looking well.

MM’s red dress is a gorgeous colour, very poor fit around torso though. Straight-on pictures make her look very oddly proportioned. Actually, all of the pictures, side-on ones are even worse.

Love the Luxembourg pic, they always look so happy. Baby Charles us just the cutest! 😍

Can somebody tell me - was the red dress's bodice supposed to look like this with .... errm.... "nipple tucks"? I cannot work it out whether it is a design feature or evidence of last minute alterations, or whether I'm just getting too old - but it creates an strange shape and looks odd to me

It's a bit folksy alright. But other than that I can't say... Could be a Norwegian thing, sure they're all a bit mad.

I've seen so many celebs fall victim to the darts/nipples ahoy bodice. You'd think that for what those dresses cost the designer would get it right!

Oh crumbs, MM dress and hairstyle is terrible from that angle! Still love the colour but what a strange shape and oh dear yes, the nipple darts are not good!
She has a fabulous figure but I wonder if that style would have looked better on someone more angular and longer on their top half.
Still think it was a really odd (inappropriate) choice for a sombre reason, but accept it was a gala and also maybe perceived differently in the US to here?

Veterans Day in the US is not so much for remembrance of people who have died as it is to honor people who have served. It's much more celebratory than somber. We have a separate observance, Memorial Day, in May, which is to honor those who have died in military service. I'm not particularly fond of Meghan's dress, but it is not inappropriate.

Thanks @SenecaFallsRedux, useful to learn that and makes more sense in context now. I like that you have 2 days, one to remember the fallen and another to honour those who served.

Ha ha shrugitoff you can tell I'm not a Daily Fail journo, as I've not used STUNNING once in that post!

It is a pity that the bust darts on Meg's dress are not quite perfect, I think she's possibly suddenly lost a little weight after her last fitting.

But for me, that is just a minor point, and there are other things I love about the dress, the beautiful silk faille fabric for instance, (what used to be called grosgrain). The clever use of different thicknesses of silk give the fabric an inbuilt strength, so that you get the gleam of silk combined with structural strength, which Wes Gordon has exploited with the bustle like skirt.

I agree with @AdaColeman she may have lost a little weight - the middle of the dress is folding inward. It makes for an odd silhouette.

It was too tight at the back though. I just don't get why she doesn't get it fitted better. Unless as I suggested upthread it's borrowed.

To be honest, since they married the only think that fitted Meghsn properly was the leather skirt. I've never seen anyone get it wrong so many times.

In the photo that @CliffsofMohair posted, does the dress have a pale coloured lining or are they tan lines? I’m looking around the bust/under arm area.

Kate's been out for a Remembrance Day-related event in shades of green. I think she looks good. Though I'd probably choose to wear the chunky boots the model is wearing rather than stilettos. They're lovely but the boots feel more modern.

The Black Watch double breasted coat. Hasn't Meghan got a similar one? I seem to remember when she was first engaged and they were out and about.
I agree about the boots. Kate needs a shoe intervention, it's all a bit samey, although at least the nude stilletos seem to have been ditched (hallelujah).
