I think we have at least one tiara each, according to my spreadsheet. Some have parures. Any newbies welcome, log your choices.

The Luxembourgs and thread mascot. They always look like such a happy smiley family Smile

Oh my that colour is stunning and she looks gorgeous but there’s something off about the dress itself. I think it’s the fitting or perhaps the fabric.

Also, is it just me, or is that a bit of an inappropriate look for a veteran’s event? I know it’s a gala and they’re known for being very glam but this isn’t a very demure look for a serious, somber cause. Maybe I’m looking too much into it? I don’t want to be a downer…

Lunde · 11/11/2021 11:10

@RockaLock

Oh, I like Sophie's dress (the black/navy one). Very simple and elegant.
Yes I thought this was a great look for her.
paradyning · 11/11/2021 11:27

Megs' dress reminds me of Demi Moore's indecent proposal dress. It is nothing like it but I think those type of halters have a distinctly 90s vibe to them.

KillingMeDeftly · 11/11/2021 12:04

The neckline was a bit plunging but I think you can get away with that if you're smaller of bust.

Eaumyword · 11/11/2021 12:23

Loads of fashion to look at!
Meghan - great colour and makeup but think the hair is too harsh and agree with you @SnottyLottie I think it's a bit too overtly sexy and inappropriate (definite shades of Indecent Proposal @para) to be marking Remembrance Day. I suspect she wanted distracting headlines and achieved it with this dress...
Sophie looks great!
Max is, well, Maxtastic!Grin
Love Leti's pink bag. Not a fan of her dress, but she does wear clothes well and styles it out.

KillingMeDeftly · 11/11/2021 13:17

I like this look on Meghan a lot better - loose hair, basic black and great accessories.

justasking111 · 11/11/2021 13:27

I am glad that in common with UK veterans events once the celebrity has done the arrival photo the event is completely private

banivani · 11/11/2021 13:42

Excuse me, but mrs Luxembourg is just gorgeous in that photo. What a lovely family.

Other than that I'm not keeping up with clothes at all - I'll be back for the Nobel dinner which hopefully will take some sort of place this year.

gingercat02 · 11/11/2021 13:45

There are photos online of Meghan's dress. It looks like a straight midi length dress with an overskirt at the back. I think I like it but it's an odd choice for the occasion

gluenotsoup · 11/11/2021 13:53

Ooh, Sophie looks great there, the dark dress. Classy and very flattering.
I don’t mind the Missoni style dress, it’s just ok. I do like the shoes with it though.
Max- no, too much for me.
Meghan- no. I don’t think that works really. I think it strikes the wrong note for the sombreness of the event. Her hair is too scraped back, I don’t like the cat eye makeup flicks, and the dress itself is just badly fitting and very unflattering both on the chest and in the width- it looks bulky from the side and back and baggy at the front.
Sorry!

Balloondog · 11/11/2021 14:39

Echoing others thoughts:
I think Sophie's latest outfit is lovely - just the right balance of elegance and style with some interest to it.
I'm not at all keen on Meghan's dress beyond the colour, which is stunning; it seems to fit poorly (both too tight and too loose at the same time!) and I'd agree seems slightly inappropriate for the event though I accept that maybe such events are different in the US.
I wasn't keen on Kate's trouser/blouse combo but I did like her coat. It wasn't offensive, just a bit blah. Fingers crossed for some glam from her in the coming days at the various upcoming events.
Max - love the ombré dress and overall look but wow the Swiss cheese dress is dire! But I do continue to love her for taking risks, at least it's interesting!

GrouchyKiwi · 11/11/2021 14:42

I don't like Meg's red dress. Her black outfit is good.
Max's cut-out dress is utterly bonkers.
Daisy looks very elegant in her outfit.
And I like Sophie's black or navy dress very much.

GrouchyKiwi · 11/11/2021 14:42

Oh yes, and the Luxembourgs all look gorgeous.

KillingMeDeftly · 11/11/2021 15:04

I always think the Luxembourgs look like a lovely family and then I remember how badly they treated Tessy!

Maireas · 11/11/2021 16:26

Prince Charles and his chubby thighs - always welcome here! ( you know the Prince Charles I mean 😉)

What's with the darts on Megan's dress ?
It looks very odd - could it really be that badly sewn for a designer dress - or am I just seeing a distorted / bad photograph ?
I think the nicest photo I've seen of Megan and Harry is the one in the rain, she's wearing a blue dress.
It's magical.

I love Sophie's simple classy look.

Baby Charles is such a cutie.

hopeishere · 11/11/2021 17:51

I think it's because she has - I assume - borrowed the dress so there's only so much they can do I terms of refitting it. The darts on the bust are really odd.

Maireas · 11/11/2021 17:55

I would think Carolina Herrera would give her the dress, surely, rather than just loan it?
Usually CH dresses fit well, it may be that design with the tight low bodice and the double skirt isn't a great shape for Meghan.

Yep this. I wouldn’t be inclined to want to marry into them! An option for me obviously 😂
AdaColeman · 11/11/2021 18:03

I like Max in her powder blue Claes Iversen gown. The cut outs and the touches of gold are typical of his work.

I think the colour suits Max, and narrow shape of the gown coupled with her hair style, emphasised her hight and elegance.
I like the way Claes has matched the undergown to Max's own skin tone to heighten the illusion, and he does the same with this dress for other clients, for instance using tones of ivory.
The workmanship of the embroidery is lovely.
The event was a concert hosted by Max & Wil, so not a grand formal state occasion, but a chance for her to wear something fun and frivolous!

Queen Sonja's outfit with its floral frilled sleeves and peplum, managed to make her look a bit frumpy I thought.

I really liked Margrethe in her soft lilac outfit, especially her jaunty feathered hat!

Top marks to Kate for rewearing items, I'd like to see her doing more of this.
Camilla was out and about at a Remembrance event today, wearing dark green and navy blue, which I thought she looked very good in.

MotherofPearl · 11/11/2021 18:08

Delightful to see our adorable Thread Mascot looking as scrumptious as ever!

Queen Margrethe at a banquet last night in Germany, looking amazing imo. She's not very much younger than HMQ, but I do feel she has a lot more natural style and flair.
