I think we have at least one tiara each, according to my spreadsheet. Some have parures. Any newbies welcome, log your choices.

@TracyBeakerSoYeah that website selling replica tiaras is amazing Grin
You won't need to do that heist.
Do people really order them ?
Where do they wear them or do they sit at home and decide to wear the x tiara as they do the hoovering, wash the floors, make the beds or put the bins out ?
Do they buy one or two or decide they want a larger selection and buy 4 or 5 for variety ?
Perhaps, more mundanely, they are bought just by brides for their wedding.

I love Kate's dress, it's a beautiful colour.
I think it needs to be a bit shorter.

CruellaDeVilla · 02/11/2021 07:41

That’s a great photo of PM in the bath with the tiara, i might try it at home and see if anyone comes to hand feed me chocolates. Doubt it though.
Now, I do like the feathered hats, I just can’t get on board with them flapping round wrists and down the front of dresses. I don’t know how Max and Leti resist the urge to walk round flapping their arms and squawking. Or maybe they don’t in private 🤷🏻‍♀️

latedecember1963 · 02/11/2021 09:20

I like the colour and style of Kate's blue coat dress, but agree with others who think it needs to be shorter.
Even though she's tall it seems to swamp her at that length.
William's blue suit is beautifully cut.

justasking111 · 02/11/2021 14:23

@Maireas

I agree, *@KillingMeDeftly* - I don't think it's a workload problem, I suspect a rather rigorous diet and exercise regime.
Well it's doing her no favours the lines either side of her mouth are deep now and she has mama bags under her eyes. At her age I had none of that but I did get a full night's sleep and could manage a full time job.

Of course it could be genetic

gluenotsoup · 02/11/2021 15:04

I think Kate really is naturally beautiful, but suits a little more weight as it just softens her a little. Also, a dewy make up rather than a dry looking base is much more flattering, including for me 😊

KillingMeDeftly · 02/11/2021 16:08

I agree @gluenotsoup, when she was pregnant and carrying a bit of extra weight in her face she looked lovely.

I'm sure it's an unpopular opinion but she could've done worse than take some makeup tips from her sister-in-law. Regardless of what she looked like from the neck down, and there were some awful outfits, Meghan's makeup was always flawless!

Maireas · 02/11/2021 16:21

@justasking111 and @gluestop - good points. I wonder if a softer, more dewy base would help? She uses that very dark eyeliner and favours a strong, dark eyebrow look - perhaps more muted may be more flattering.
At least she can move her face!

@KillingMeDeftly - I was going to say the same about Meghan! Really great make up that lifts her complexion and is very flattering.

The Duchess Kate blog has some info on the earrings Kate wore last night. I wasn't keen on the dress but the earrings are gorgeous!

Eaumyword · 02/11/2021 18:03

Omg I LOVE those earrings!

TSSDNCOP · 02/11/2021 18:35

Disagree on the length. I thought it channelled a Wallace Simpson silhouette. Which may not have been on Kate's mind admittedly Winkbut she and Wallace share that long frame.

CliffsofMohair · 02/11/2021 20:36

I didn’t love the Kate frock coat from last night. Touch of Call the Midwife about it. Love the earrings though.

SenecaFallsRedux · 02/11/2021 22:37

Touch of Call the Midwife about it

I'm afraid I have to agree. All she needs is a pair of cat's eye spectacles and she's channeling Nurse Turner. But the dress is a great color on her.

JesusMaryAndJosephAndTheWeeDon · 02/11/2021 22:41

OMG the virtual trying on is brilliant!!! I am having so much fun trying on tiaras in my PJs!

I agree about the call the midwife vibe of Kate's dress. Not loving it

StCharlotte · 03/11/2021 08:10

That colour was fabulous on Kate but I wonder if I'll ever be able to move on from thinking of it as 1980s "catalogue" blue. I appreciate that's almost certainly just me Grin

gluenotsoup · 03/11/2021 09:42

I know where you are coming from there, StCharlotte, it’s not one of my favourite colours either. I also think of it as being an eighties colour, along with fuschia and magenta type shades, slightly cheap looking even if the item isn’t 🤷🏻‍♀️

justasking111 · 03/11/2021 13:55

I'm reading Robert Lacey princess Grace it was 97p the other day. A lovely expose I am enjoying. It's still 97p worth a look

Yes! I was a very bright bridesmaid a couple of times in the 80s and very flammable I suspect!
frugalkitty · 03/11/2021 19:52

justasking I have that book, I have a few about Princess Grace. The first one I read when I was about 15 was the Gwen Robyns one which paints her as the perfect virginal princess so you can imagine how much more interesting her life became to me once I started on the others Grin

Just catching up after losing you all for a week or so. And yes @Maireas please keep the Strathmore Rose tiara for me Smile. I love the picture of PM in the bath.

That shade of blue on Kate isn't a win for me. I quite like the style of the dress but not the colour. We used to have black jumpers in the 80s with flashes of fuschia, emerald green and electric blue and that dress remind me of them. And not in a good way. I did like her hair though but agree that she looks tired despite having just come back from a half term holiday.
