Long lasting perfume

I've tried lots of different perfumes over the years and none of them seem to last. I got a flowerbomb a few months ago, and it is lovely when you spray it, but literally after minutes it seems to have worn off. Does anyone have any recommendations for long lasting floral based fragrances?

I've been blogging for nearly nine years and these are the longest lasting fragrances I have come across: iscentyouaday.com/2020/04/24/dawn-til-dusk-perfumes-that-stick-around/

I totally agree with pp who say you don't smell your own regular perfume after a while! I'm guilty of overspray as I think it's 'gone', but it hasn't!
I love Shay&Blue Black Tulip for longevity and intense scent.
Agree about Jo Malone being completely lightweight, with the exception of Velvet Rose&Oud.
I'm having a love-in with Molton Brown Milk Musk currently. Smells gorgeous and is long lasting. Not too dear either.

Are you wearing eau de parfum or perfume rather than eau de toilette?
Eau de toilette is water based whereas perfume tends to be oil based so lasts longer.

riotlady · 20/10/2021 11:52

Coco Mademoiselle lasts forever on me, and can often smell it on my cardigan sleeves or scarf a few days later

Inthesameboatatmo · 20/10/2021 11:53

Have you tried perfume oil?
Especially if it also has oud it will last for ages .

MissBattleaxe · 20/10/2021 14:44

@Blueuggboots eau de toilette and eau de parfum are both alcohol based but eau de toilette has a lower concentration of actual parfum, usually 5 to 10 %, whereas eau de parfum is usually around 15%. Sorry if I sound like a nerd!

EdenFlower · 20/10/2021 17:17

Jo Malone? No No, I don't think so! It's basically light cologne.

If you want a floral that is long lasting go for:

Alien by Thierry Mugler,
CoCo Mademoiselle by Chanel
Insolence by Geurlain
La Vie est Bell by Lancome
Elie Saab Le parfum

Morgantowers · 20/10/2021 17:18

Chanel no5. Last till i undress at night.

earsup · 20/10/2021 17:27

Penhaligons range....always found to last long, also the very expensive louis vuitton range as they are perfumes....Elie Saab also good but the cheap perfume oils you can pick up on ebay for around £3 are very good...some of their dupes are just like the originals.

LookdeepintotheParka · 20/10/2021 21:53

@Eaumyword I love Milk Musk too - perfect for a chilly winter's day Smile

It's really good to have testers back again in some stores. I had a lovely mooch around John Lewis perfume aisles a few weeks ago - there seems to have been a lot of new launches recently!

Opal8 · 20/10/2021 22:04

Agree about Avon timeless @MissBattleaxe :)
Jo malone? Might as well spray water! I call them No malone :)
Andy tauer perfumes last a looong time
I wear Shazam! By 4160 tuesdays which lasts well

MistySkiesAfterRain · 21/10/2021 13:30

I tried Lancome Vie Est Belle, the assistant said it lasts ages. It was still going 3-4 hours later.

Its nicer with the first spritzes though, sparkly, dreamy floral, I personally found the lasting scent a bit cloying.

Probably not as long lasting as some of above, I can't smell it today, though I did apply it lightly.

She gave me a sample so I can try it again though.

MistySkiesAfterRain · 21/10/2021 13:30

I'm also going to go shopping off this thread, thanks!

MistySkiesAfterRain · 21/10/2021 13:37

Another vote for JL perfume counter at Oxford Street.

MistySkiesAfterRain · 21/10/2021 13:38

Its not really a counter, more of a store in itself. Bit unwieldy but good if you go with a list and get chatting to staff.

AlaskaThunderfuckHiiiiiiiii · 21/10/2021 16:11

4160 Tuesdays last and last on me as does lancome idole which is one of my favourites. My recent purchase of Marc jacobs perfect intense lasts all day as well

Clean Reserve Sueded Oud
(If you like Ouds but it's quite a gentle fruity oud) has an amazing last & it comes in a travel size too

It's my favourite perfume along with Chanel's Bel Respiro which like all Chanel's last forever.

Kierin NYC scents have good staying power too m.feelunique.com/brands/kierin-nyc

I'm surprised no one had mentioned www.perfume-parlour.co.uk/ yet. I found lots of people raving about them on mumsnet. They sell oils and pure perfume of many popular scents. All the ones I bought have been long lasting.

Carleton · 21/10/2021 21:24

La vie est belle

mobear · 21/10/2021 21:54

I’d recommend Diptyque Du Son EDP. If you buy it from their website they send you a sample as well so you can try it before committing to it. If you don’t like it, you can return it unopened.

thefirstmrsrochester · 21/10/2021 22:07

The only perfumes which have lasted for me have been Clinique Wrappings and Penhaligons Halfeti.

goose1964 · 21/10/2021 23:29

Just because you can't smell it doesn't mean that others can't smell it, you've gone, to coin a phrase, nose blind.
Also how long a fragrance lasts depends on your skin, I find that the more expensive the fragrance the less likely that it will stay for any length.

I think it's more about notes than price. My Chanel fragrances (Coco, Coco Mademoiselle) last all day and I have a Penhaligons fragrance which I can still smell on my skin a few days later! Patchouli, musk and vanilla frags all have good longevity on me.

However, I was on the Ffern ledger for a while and their natural fragrances lasted all of 2 minutes on my skin. Ffern is £69 a bottle!

creamandberries · 22/10/2021 13:48

The mugler ones (Alien etc) last forever but they smell AWFUL.

Agree with others that coco mademoiselle lasts well.
