I'm in love with these boots

My problems are":

• they're a lot of money. It they were comfortable, go with everything, wear everyday until they fall apart boots, I'd justify it to myself, but they're not.
• I only actually have one outfit I can see me wearing them with, a wine coloured short knitted dress
• as a general rule I don't wear black or red. My "neutrals" are navy and grey and my pallet is sweet pea summer. I don't even have black opaques to go with the dress, I usually wear navy. [Grin]
• I can't even see how to make them work with jeans, too long for skinnies and pointless under wide leg jeans, which would be all wrong anyway (?)

Can I make them work for their money?

I don't get why it's a problem that you don't wear black or red. I wouldn't wear red clothes with red boots. Your neutrals of navy and grey would both go with them fine. I don't know what sweet pea summer is though, so can't comment there.
Roll them up to wear with skinnies? And do you/could you wear leggings? They'd look good with navy or grey leggings.

I've got two pairs of Docs. The eight button pascal in purple and more recently purchased - black and white flowers.
I wear them with leggings, jeans and skirts and anything really if it looks OK. I would struggle with these because of the longer length even though I love Docs, I would not wear any for the sake of it.
My first thought was they are what Goths wear and I m no Goth !

There are loads of online guides to wearing in DMs ( wears my money for example). Personally I can't see the point in something that's not comfy straight away but if you love them is it worth it to you?

I bought dm's for work and they gave me bad knees. No give in the sole and I was up and down stairs a lot. Sold on eBay for a fraction of the £100+ they cost new.

They will probably last for ages, any DMs I've ever had haveasted years and years of constant wearing. And are ridiculously comfortable. But they are rather niche

I love DMs and personally would happily wear these with navy BUT you need to try them. I can't wear this particular style as they don't look right on my calf. The stores always have these in.

I bought Dr Martens classic when they were still made in England. These were £18 from ebay, just needed some TLC

Dd got a pair of the boots and the shoes (both in just the classic black) for her birthday last year. Her feet spent the next couple of months wrapped in serious amounts of blister plasters but now says they’re very comfortable. Cost me a fortune both for the footwear initially and then bloody compede (so?) plasters 😂
So many people give up on them before they get to the comfortable stage so you’d definitely be able to find some barely worn ones somewhere!

I haven't had any problems with my Docs. Never found them uncomfortable.
When I first started wearing them (a very very long time ago) I used to have to piss on them to soften them up 🤣. Thankfully no more
Those are beautiful BTW, I'd wear them with skinnies, but I live in skinnies!

I’ve ordered them twice and sent them back both times! Just could not get them to sit comfortably on my legs or feet.

I got a pair about a month ago but not the regular ones. They are so uncomfortable. These are pascal I think they are called. Nice and comfy. Haven't actually wore them out because it's been far too bloody hot here 28° today ffs! But I can't wait.
I saw those when I was looking but knew I would never wear them, as much as I loved them.
Jist get regular dms OP. I plan to wear mine with dresses and tights for going out places. Skinny jeans and leggings with jumpers for everyday stuff.

Of anybody’s selling size 7s....
