I have this on my nose..it has become a problem this last year or so.
Daily I have horrible spots, redness and enlarged pores, also blackheads.
I am using a cream called fineca which seems to help for a time anyway.
I cleanse and tone, also exfoliate once or twice a week and use face washes.
I have been told it is caused by oily skin and using moisturizers won't help but I think my skin is dry?
I do moisturise but tend to miss my nose if possible when applying.
I also apply retinol(however also been told what I can buy over the counter won't be enough)
Can anyone help?
I am close to booking a consultation where they will get me to use their products but want to hear from real people and what worked for you.

It's really helpful hearing about all the alternatives on here. I shall definitely be looking up some of these on Google. For what it's worth, I found Costco's Kirkland wipes to be very soothing and they totally cleared up any redness. It came back when I switched to Simple so I always use Kirkland now.

Skin+me sent me antibiotics for 3 months and a skin care regime. £3.50 for 1st month.
Then they paired my face solution back to Niacinamide and Azelic Acid so I cancelled and bought them from The Ordinary.

Does Soolantra help with redness at all?

Whenigrowupiwanttobea · 15/11/2021 20:00

I saw a Dermatologist for my Rosacea.
Along with prescribing soolantra which has been a godsend he advised to use gentle products for cleansing, and toning. He advised to wear a moisturiser with spf of 30 to50 everyday as uv light will exacerbate the Rosacea. He also advised using a night cream with soothing ingredients to help 'pamper' the skin overnight. He also advised no exfoliation scrubs as they can absolutely be too harsh and aggravate the skin more. So I do all that and add in a niacinamide serum which helps tone down the redness. My skin has improved considerably!

DH had an expensive SK:N clinic appointment for his Rosacea. They have him tablets and cream and it cleared up completely, it was amazing but they said themselves that a GP could've done the same for much cheaper.

I'm still using soolantra it is better and most of the redness has eased.
I still get papules and am thinking of going to the GP maybe for some antibiotics.

Soolantra did nothing for me, I'm so jealous it worked for so many. I've tried every cream, ointment and antibiotic. Finacea worked for about a year but then stopped.

Years ago when I first diagnosed with rosacea and my face was bright red with pustules (looking at old photos, i look like I had burnt my face) I read there could be a connection with h.pylori, I asked my gp if I could be tested for it and sure enough it came back positive! 4 other members of my family also tested positive - as it can run in families they were all advised to test too. After triple, therapy which is 2 lots of anti biotics and stomach acid reducer, the rosacea improved massively, the pustules disappeared, the redness, although much reduced, was still there but laser treatment cleared that up. I occasionally get a mild flare up so it is still lurking but i'd say it's 80% better. For any very mild flare ups I use soolantra and gladskin, but this is occasional. Also, the h.pylori used to cause me bad headaches and mysterious bouts of vomiting which stopped after treatment. It's possible that h.pylori may be the cause of rosacea for some people, although I don't think it has ever been scientifically proved.

Soolantra and Kalme skincare for me

Thinking about my comments above, I guess the h.pylori may not have been the actual cause of rosacea but caused it to seriously flare up
