Marni jacket

Sounds like plain old-fashioned snobbery to me.

I've got plenty of knickers and sheets, none of them (I'm happy to say) with a designer label.

So will those go out of style then?

Will khaki flannels for blond men suddenly become passe?

belgo · 26/11/2007 16:18

I don't think I've ever actually bought a sheet or a towel. We seem to get given them. Fine by me

Anna8888 · 26/11/2007 16:18

Yes, and a coat is to keep warm. But also to suit the person.

I can't bear that hotel look at home, all white towels and sheets.

Cam · 26/11/2007 16:19

Anna, I like both those Marni coats, they would suit me too

I agree with Anna (ish).

We have all sorts of different colours. DD likes her pink stripey one, DS a blue stripey one. DH not in the least bit fussed. He'd use a pink stripey one if that was all there was. He doesn't need his towel to match his colouring .

I'm not mad on the hotel look at home either.

Cam · 26/11/2007 16:22

Oh let her be, she has posted in style and beauty

Heifer · 26/11/2007 16:35

I did have some sympathy with Anna just now - if she has the money and needs advise re coat then fair enough to link to expensive ones..

But feck me - stylish towels - I have heard it all now!

We have a huge stack of Next ones, practical yes, comfy yes, enough to go round and then some, yes. stylish who cares!

that has made my day...

I like it. Depends on what you wear with it (obviously). One of those plain styles that would look better on some than others iykwim.

cupcakekitty · 26/11/2007 18:07

anna you are hilarious re towel fashion.Re: coat the black one is eeons better but then for that money why not use a personal shopper at Harvey nicks?

Anna8888 · 26/11/2007 18:17

I'm in France, cupcakekitty - and I'm not a Harvey Nicks kind of girl.

Went Christmas shopping at Bon Marché on Saturday and am now mulling... will pop down to avenue Montaigne this week to browse a bit more

MummyDarlingSausage - Marni isn't for everyone, I know. I kind of suit plainish styles - I can't do frills at all.

OP posts:
Cam · 26/11/2007 18:20

Oh same Anna

cupcakekitty · 26/11/2007 18:21

is marni a french company..i thought they were swedish...because if your're in france it would be sacrilage not to buy local. They know all about the look you are going for and having a capsule wardrobe for the season. Anyway enchante

Anna8888 · 26/11/2007 18:24

Marni is Italian. French clothes don't generally suit me - my shoulders are too wide and I'm just not a French type. Italian clothes (esp Prada and Marni) are good. And lots of English clothes suit me, unsurprisingly.
