Hate my hair after trying new hairdresser

So… My usual hairdresser couldn’t fit me in until the end of August. I desperately needed my hair doing so thought what the heck I’ll try going somewhere else in between, it will be ok if it goes wrong and I can tie it up. But OMG! It’s fucking awful. I hate it and I can barely tie it up!

I was in there hours. It wasn’t cheap. I’ve wasted 4 1/2 hours of my life and I look fucking awful. And to top it off half way through her doing it she said it won’t be perfect! No shit sherlock!

I had it curled so didn’t really notice the cut although it felt short, and thought perhaps the colour looked dark/dull as I needed to get use to it. But fuck everything is awful. It’s not what I asked for at all.

I’ve raise my concerns with the salon, but don’t want them touching it again. My hair feels awful and I think it needs time to heal. Although I don’t know why it feels so bad as It’s so dark and I’m not actually sure what the heck she used as it was a grown out blonde root melt and platinum in places, and has no lighter bits in it now whatsoever.

Problem is my hair is too dark, and the way she’s coloured it the grey on top looks awful already, there’s no highlights and it’s one flat ash green colour.

I’ve asked the salon what she put on it, but had no reply.

So, please can anyone recommend what the heck I can put on it to brighten it a bit and make it feel in a better condition whilst I go back to my usual salon at the end of next month???

Vosene shampoo washes out colouring quite fast. May be worth getting some....

Bluntness100 · 14/07/2021 15:29

Can you post a pic with your face scribbled out?

Bythehairywartsonmywitchychin · 14/07/2021 17:10

I’ve been using head and shoulders. Might try some vosene.

Photo to show the colour. I washed it yesterday and have left conditioner in it and have had it tied it. Still feels bloody awful!

I meant.. I washed it yesterday and have left a hair mask on it and had it tied up, hence the awful bushy mess. But tbh it’s still a bush when I tried straightening it and I feel like Rachel from friends……

It looks like she used too much toner? Wash your hair a few times with head and shoulders

Bythehairywartsonmywitchychin · 14/07/2021 17:16

I’ve been using head and shoulders. How many times will it need washing before it lightens?

They’ve said they can put another toner in top. But I don’t think that will work, it need bleach to lighten it doesn’t it?

Sorry for the typos…

It looks long and a bit curly to me, not short at all? What do you not like about the cut.
I can see what you mean about the colour, I would use vosene and some intensive conditioners to try to fade the colour and revive the condition.
My hairdresser put too dark of a toner on my balayage and it took about 6 washes before it even started to lighten up.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 14/07/2021 17:35

Why can't you tie it up,you have loads of hair?

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 14/07/2021 17:37

It's light already, I think perhaps you're not seeing what we're seeing?

Wrt Head and Shoulders,it doesn't lighten hair after a few washes, it might lighten it a but over weeks but it doesn't for me .

Perhaps go back and see your normal hairdresser?

Bythehairywartsonmywitchychin · 14/07/2021 19:42

It’s not really light at all. It’s a dull ash colour with blended in highlights as the toner is way too dark. I went with a grown out root stretch and the colour wash golden blonde and platinum, and it was about 3 inches longer. I pointed out the blonde colours I liked in my hair. It’s now a shapeless lob and is too thick do do anything with.

I couldn’t get an appointment with my usual hairdresser until the end of August, that’s why I tried a different one in between.

I’ll keep washing and conditioning it and have to live with it tied up. Sob!

My hair goes like that with ash toner .. what did it look like before?

JMAngel1 · 14/07/2021 22:38

Try some sodium bicarb powder mixed into normal head and shoulders - leave it on for 15-30 minutes. It really helps to lift colour out.

HaudYerWheestFella · 14/07/2021 22:44

Have you got a before pic ?

Kittykat93 · 14/07/2021 22:50

How can you hardly tie it up?? Your hair looks long to me! Agree colour doesn't look great

MoltonSilver · 14/07/2021 23:11

If it feels like it's in poor condition I'd suggest Philip Kingsley Elasticizer. It took my hair from straw to soft.

Bluntness100 · 15/07/2021 07:40

That’s a really poorly lit photo, naturally lightened your hair looks lighter and perfectly long enough to tie up. It’s also Not styled there, and few peoples hair is very nice in just wash and go mode.

It’s hard to tell op to be honest as that feels like a deliberately poor pic.

Journeynotdestination · 15/07/2021 08:25

Not sure why the Op would put up a deliberately poor pic?

Be careful using things that will strip your hair OP, to me it looks lovely, just wait it out till you can see your regular stylist.

PeonyTime · 15/07/2021 08:35

Ok, it might not be what you wanted, but it's not horrific.
Its had conditioner left in, so wash, dry and style as usual today, and see how you feel about it.
Get an appointment booked in at the end August with your normal salon.

Bythehairywartsonmywitchychin · 15/07/2021 11:35

I mentioned that the photo was just to show the colour and it wasn’t styled.

I’ve now rinsed the conditioning mask out and it still feels like straw, so I’ve put some olaplex 3 on it to see if that helps. I will post a better picture later when I’ve styled it.

Might be worth trying a purple hair mask. Superdrug own brand is good. Should neutralise the green a bit.

MaMelon · 15/07/2021 11:43

It looks absolutely fine to me Confused - just looks like you have a combination of darker ash blonde and very light blonde.

Can you post a picture of what you were hoping for so we can see the difference?

Bythehairywartsonmywitchychin · 15/07/2021 11:44

@Livinglavidalockdown I thought about doing that, but not sure if it make it more ashy. Dam hair is costing a fortune. 😞
