If you have rosacea can you advise good products?

Not me but for a friend, she has kind of red lumps on her T zone, chin and sometimes forehead. She think it’s rosacea and wants some products but doesn’t have time to research so I said I would ask the MN collective! Her skin otherwise is normal/dry. Any advice or product recommendations welcome.

Soolantra. Don’t waste your time or money on anything else. Go to an online pharmacy, order Soolantra, and upload photos. If they think it’s not rosacea they’ll let you know. If it is, we’ll, it’s the best £38 I’ve ever spent. Takes a month or two to kick in, but it works.

If go to a dermatologist first before spending or trying. I was put on a 6m prescription of rosex and have used factor 50 daily since, and have found the products that suit me - cooling, calming, enriching types, but I would advise something prescriptive first to get a good start at it.

That wasn't available when I was diagnosed, way back, SarahBellam, but sounds amazing.

I have Rosacea but not lumpy, I have improved it probably 85% by using CeraVe wash or CeraVe lotion as a wash and the moisturising cream afterwards. When it's super dry/red I use Eucerin 10% lotion.

I take make up off using a wash cloth with tepid water, make up remover really aggrevates it.

Azelaic acid serum

Clockers41 · 01/07/2021 23:46

Another vote for solantra - after a decade of failed prescriptions this cured it

GooodMythicalMorning · 01/07/2021 23:51

Rozex I think its called but was prescribed by dr. worth getting it looked at as there is different types of rosacea

Belliphat · 01/07/2021 23:54

Soolantra
Amazing
Designed to kill mites on cow udders - don’t tell her that bit if she is more high end!

GeorginaLS · 02/07/2021 00:04

Soolantra.

Livedandlearned · 02/07/2021 02:09

Soolantra sorted my skin, this was about 5 years ago and I've never looked back

JMAngel1 · 02/07/2021 06:03

Soolantra - changed my life literally.

KikiKaty · 02/07/2021 06:39

Vitamin C. I take a tablet every morning, use the Body Shop vitamin C spray, and a serum with Vitamin C. It clears my rosacea within a few days and I rarely get any now.

00feckingbollocks · 02/07/2021 06:57

Soolantra Soolantra Soolantra. Every time. I heard about it on here and bought it from an online pharmacy. Absolutely works.

BlackSwan · 02/07/2021 10:27

Not a product - but a treatment:

IPL photofacial treatments - I've had one session of a bundle of 3, and it has reduced my rosacea by a good 70-80% after a couple of weeks.

I have used Soolantra before and the results were good but not nearly as good as this.

FreeBritnee · 02/07/2021 10:29

Soolantra.

MouldyPotato · 02/07/2021 14:45

Cetaphil face wash, nice and gentle.

MouldyPotato · 02/07/2021 14:46

(That won't "cure" the rosacea but it shouldn't agrivate things)

Letsbekindplease · 02/07/2021 17:36

I was out on an antibiotic can’t remember the name of it. Cyclin it ended in. I tried lots of creams. Now I use ordinary moisturiser. It seems to be good on my skin

Barwell76 · 02/07/2021 17:37

Soolantra and giving up wine

MegsSmeg · 02/07/2021 22:59

For those who have recommended Soolantra, how long did you use it for? I have recently started a tube after seeing recommendations here. I'm pleased with the results so far but do I just stop using it once the tube runs out or do I need to use it for ever more to keep the redness/spots at bay?

FinallyGotAnIPhone · 02/07/2021 23:03

Soolantra.

Have never found any beauty products that have helped or hindered despite trying many over the years.

FitzChivarly · 02/07/2021 23:04

I went to the Dr's with something similar last year and was told its rosacea acne and prescribed rosex which cleared it up very quickly

stayathomer · 02/07/2021 23:07

Cetaphil face wash and avene skin recovery cream but I don't have bumpy skin and skin type is dry. Personally I'd advise against any moisturisers that say th ed yre 'for roseacea' have made my way through most brands and none worked, I do have a number of moisturisers that don't aggrevate my skin- moogoo, pestle and mortar, roche posay and avene

MilesOfSand · 02/07/2021 23:07

Dermatica online can prescribe a compound treatment including ivermectin (soolantra) which I’ve found helpful. It also has niacinamide and an antibiotic in it.

Belliphat · 03/07/2021 00:25

Hmmm dermatica triggered my Roseacea and weren’t interested in my updates. Invermectin from the gp is cheaper
