I honestly don't know anymore. I've lost weight but have a long way to go. I have a fancy afternoon tea coming up soon and thought this might be ok. In my head it all worked together but I honestly can't tell if it's ok. Thanks.

Espadrilles would be great.

A wrap would be terrible - please don't wear one.

You really don't need a cardigan or a different jacket. You like the jacket, have been looking for a chance to wear it so wear it! Take it off and show off your pretty dress, after enjoying travelling in it.

Don't overthink it. Wherever you're heading is likely to be very mixed, from dressed down to overdressed. There are very few places these days in which the jacket would be 'too scruffy' as a previous poster decreed. It really won't be.

Congrats on your weight loss - a big achievement, you should be proud.

The dress is really lovely - would love to see it with the jacket off as assume you would take it off in the restaurant.

I agree with a PP that the jacket or cardigan needs to be shorter (cropped) and shaper in size and shape to contrast and accentuate the layered flowing dress. It also too low stops at the wrong part - if it were a shorter and neater jacket / cardigan it would highlight your waist and be much more flattering. Agree that espadrilles would work well - I would be tempted to go for a the contrasting / complementary green ones to funk it up ..... but that would depend on what colour jacket/cardi you went for.....however the denim ones would look great too.

Have fun !

happyjack12 · 11/06/2021 21:11

cocolepew where were those espadrilles from please?

I like the outfit, have a try on with different sandals if you like, but don't overthink it, have fun :)

Cocolapew · 11/06/2021 21:33

They're from Matalan @happyjack12. Sorry I thought I'd left the name on the screenshot.

Hi, well I now have the shoes, and have taken a few more pics. One with the short cardi and one with nothing, which I think I like better. The cardi is a bit matronly and fussy over the long sleeves I think.

I could just carry the biker jacket, wear it in cab etc and at least I'll feel it's had an outing.

Statement necklace too, but might change this. I have some barely there tights too but didn't want to risk a ladder!

Hair will also be down.

Better? Thanks again for everyone's advice Smile

The dress looks great with no jacket or cardigan! Love the necklace too.

HoldontoOneMoreDay · 15/06/2021 17:52

Dress is lovely on its own. Do that. Take the jacket if you think it's going to be cooler. Do not take the cardi!

HoldontoOneMoreDay · 15/06/2021 17:52

Oh and you don't need tights. The darker shoes have solved it.

InnaBun · 15/06/2021 17:53

Love it

InnaBun · 15/06/2021 17:53

Maybe leave the cardi unless it Suddenly gets cold

JaneJeffer · 15/06/2021 18:01

It's nicer without the cardigan. I would wear the jacket and take it off when I got there. Hope you have a lovely time.

FleetwoodRaincoat · 15/06/2021 18:02

I'd definitely go with the jacket, if anything. The shoes are a huge improvement. Well done on the weight loss!

ElizabethTudor · 15/06/2021 18:04

Those shoes are lovely - they look great with the dress, and will go with so many other things.
I agree not the cardigan.
Take the jacket so it gets an outing, or if you think it might get cooler. But the dress and shoes look lovely. 👍🏻👍🏻
Enjoy your afternoon tea!

belimoo · 15/06/2021 18:23

You look lovely! I personally prefer the dress without any kind of jacket/cardigan as I like the long sleeves.

Sssloou · 15/06/2021 19:41

The dress is gorgeous on its own - really great colour and fit. Less is more. New shoes add another lift !

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 15/06/2021 19:57

Dress is lovely on its own with the wedges , lose the necklace. Have a great time 😊

bimbimbap · 15/06/2021 20:10

i came on to recommend rolling / pushing up the sleeves but see someone beat me to it. otherwise looks good and hope you have a lovely time!

LazyMareofEastown · 15/06/2021 20:14

You looks absolutely lovely in the last pic OP.

Definitely no jacket or cardi. The is SO much better just on its own. Shoes are perfect too!

Have a wonderful time!

Mumdiva99 · 15/06/2021 20:22

Unlike the rest of the posters I actually like the dress and the cardi together.

Whatever you wear the most important thing is a smile. Have a lovely time.

legaleaglepie · 15/06/2021 22:34

Perfect without the jacket or cardigan Daffodil

RickJames · 15/06/2021 22:39

I really like that jacket Smile

Dress looks lovely. I hated the first shoes - they look like bandages, but the new photo shoes are great.

Have a lovely time!

RememberLupeVelez · 16/06/2021 04:39

It's more than OK! Really fab forgiving dress which is absolutely what you need to really enjoy yourself at that fancy afternoon tea.
Second pair of shoes are a spot-on colour-match for the pink toned flowers in the dress. I prefer the cardi to the jacket. Jacket is nice though - I'm sure it will go with other things. Personally I feel undressed if I don't have something at my neck..maybe something dark blue if you have it? If not then the necklace in the pic sits well. Most important thing is to enjoy the food, the tea and the chat..bet you will...you've got the outfit sorted!

Binkybix · 16/06/2021 04:53

You look really lovely :)

Take the jacket with you. It deserves a trip out.

Also, if you are going to gradual tan, I would suggest using a tanning mitt to apply

musthavebeenlove · 16/06/2021 05:01

Please ditch the jacket.
Statement earrings.
Paint those toenails in a lovely 1950’s red or fuchsia.
You might consider wearing a belt on the dress to show off your new and improved slim waist?

Lovely dress, very nice shade of blue

pilates · 16/06/2021 06:02

Not the jacket and if the weather stays the same I don’t think you will need a cardigan. The dress is perfectly fine on it’s own.
