Help me find a summer dress for garden party next week!

Help! I knew this isn't a big deal in the grand scheme of things but we're having friends round to ours for the first time in over a year next weekend. It's to be a scorcher I think and I'd love a new summer/floral dress or jumpsuit but I'm struggling. I'm size 8 so most styles are fine but I hate my flat boobs and bony chest so I never wear anything v necked or open at the chest. I always wear high necked or button up tops.
I love Verity Hardcastle's style so would love something like the dress she is wearing in this not too good photo. Unfortunately this dress is old Warehouse and I can't buy it anywhere.
I think I'm getting anxious at the thought of socialising again and hanging too much emphasis on a new dress or jumpsuit, but I just want the night to be perfect after all this time! Budget up to £200. Thanks

I love this with a (high neck) halter neck www.joythestore.com/louche-eren-sundaisy-dress-red/p
Pricier but very striking www.anthropologie.com/en-gb/shop/farm-rio-floral-halter-maxi-dress?category=dresses&color=009&type=REGULAR&quantity=1
This is pretty, also comes in blue www.anthropologie.com/en-gb/shop/dolly-embroidered-midi-dress?category=dresses&color=015&type=REGULAR&quantity=1
beautiful colour if hot colours suit you www.johnlewis.com/damsel-in-a-dress-cicilia-tropical-print-shift-dress-red-multi/p5539897
All Saints have a lot of slip dresses - some high necked like this www.johnlewis.com/allsaints-heather-silk-blend-marble-maxi-dress-aqua-blue/p5605625 - gorgeous on the right person, would make me (size 16, 5 foot 1) look like animated curtains!

@Defiantly41 thanks for lots of lovely ideas. I maybe should have said I'm looking for a maxi dress as I hate my legs too 🙈 I love the last All Saints one you linked. Trust me to like the most expensive one. It's absolutely gorgeous.

I’ve bought this which you can wear as a high neck when it’s done up. It’s lovely on but big, you’d probably want a 6 or 8

jennyfromtheblock22 · 04/06/2021 19:21

@tolerable ha ha! I haven't been in Zara since the shops re-opened as the queues are massive. I hate the website which is a shame as I love their clothes.
I like the ASOS one but was looking for a more summery colour. God I'm a nightmare I know.

I know you said no v neck, but it is higher than your average v... lots of coverage. Ot is gorgeous on... much kicer than the picture.

jennyfromtheblock22 · 04/06/2021 19:24

@MrsBunHat that's Sezanne dress is pretty too. I don't think I'd be able to wear a bra with that and I need the padding! I'll maybe check the website for other dresses

I was in Zara last weekend and lots of lovely floral dresses. DD2 got a lovely one that laced up the back (a bit) and is a good style for smaller boobs but not a maxi . . . Good place to look though. And you’d have a lot of change from £200 Smile

simonthedog · 04/06/2021 20:05

Kemi Telford lots of other lovely ones too

MissFritton65 · 04/06/2021 20:13

Love the first Anthropologie halter neck dress......so much so I've just bought it!

mrssmiling · 04/06/2021 20:42

Boden have a few dresses that might be worth a look. This one is lovely, and although it has a V-neck it isn’t very low cut.

This one has a higher neck.

By the way, it is the Summer Chintz I looked at - available in your size. Clearly selling fast!

jennyfromtheblock22 · 04/06/2021 20:52

I quite like this one but I'm a pale blonde so not sure if it's the right colour for me www.whistles.com/product/amelia-cape-sleeve-dress-32966.html
