I know you're supposed to wear one daily and I never do this. Surely they get all oily?

The Watery Essence one or Frezyderm tinted one. Both excellent.

WineGetsMeThroughIt · 28/05/2021 12:20

I've bought the Heliocare gel factor 50 that I'd seen people rave on hear about. Tried it yesterday and it left a really strange texture on my face and made it very herd to apply my makeup. Didn't like it much at all

Lottapianos · 28/05/2021 12:25

'i must just be weird then, it's the LRP Anthelios one that stings my eyes'

Me too!

Garnier, Nivea and No7 are excellent for drier skins that like a glow

IToldYouIWasFreaky · 28/05/2021 12:38

I used the use the Watery Essence and always bought off Amazon for around £7 but the price seems to have shot up recently, which is annoying.
I'm currently using Gruum face sunscreen. It's thicker and greasier than the Watery Essence but sinks in well enough to be able to apply make up over, especially if you leave it a while. It doesn't sting my eyes or irritate my skin, which can be sensitive.

Has anyone tried any powder sunscreens? I'm tempted to get one for topping up during the day but I haven't seen much about them and so not sure what's good.

Iwantcauliflowercheese · 28/05/2021 12:39

Altruist. It's such great value for money. It was developed by the dermatologist I see. I've had a nasty skin cancer on my face and now won't leave the house without putting it on. I can wear foundation over it. I buy it from the East Kent Hospitals' shops for £3.99. It can also be bought from Amazon. I buy the factor 50.

ArabeI · 28/05/2021 12:42

I used to use the Biore watery essence. This year I wanted to try something to spray over make up so bought Garnier over makeup SPF 50 and LRP Anthelios anti shine SPF 50. I haven't tested the LRP yet but the Garnier seems fine.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 28/05/2021 12:45

Natio for Men, I have super dry skin and it’s very moisturising. It would probably be shiny on normal skin though.

BalladOfBarryAndFreda · 28/05/2021 12:47

Either shiseido or Biore UV Aqua, both spf50.

actiongirl1978 · 28/05/2021 12:48

I use sunsense daily 50, it does have a slight tiny but works well and is cost effective.

DH uses avene face. Tiny for the price but lasts ages. He has UBER sensitive eyes and this is the only one that doesnt sting. I can't speak to how it works under makeup though.

Biore Watery Essence or Bioderma Photoderm Max. Both spf 50.

Tried one from Dr Sam and it left a white tint over my skin.

AutumnBrooke · 28/05/2021 12:57

I like Heliocare gel factor 50. Seems to leave a nice sheen on my skin but not greasy. I'm prone to spots and this is one of the only ones that doesn't break me out.

Kjr33 · 28/05/2021 15:39

Biore watery essence, I think it plays really well under make up as long as you give it a bit of time to sink in

Overthinker19 · 28/05/2021 19:24

Hello are gel spf 50

Overthinker19 · 28/05/2021 19:24

Heliocare*

AllOptionsAreOnTheTable · 28/05/2021 19:31

Biore Watery Essence, Thank You Farmer or LRP Anthelios, all SPF 50. All work fine on my very fair skin. Ultrasun gives me spots.

MrsSHudson · 28/05/2021 19:43

La Roche Posay anthelios 50. Easily absorbed and not greasy under makeup

marchduck · 28/05/2021 19:52

I've been using Lancaster Sun Protective Water SPF 50 , and I love it.

Chalcroft · 28/05/2021 19:54

Biore

247SylviaPlath · 28/05/2021 19:57

Mimitika factor 50 - no eye sting, works well under make up and smells lovely but unobtrusive

BiscuitLover09876 · 28/05/2021 20:08

@Fluffycloudland77

Ultrasun mineral. It’s not tested on animals like some of the brands on this thread and mineral blocks take longer to lose effectiveness.

Nivea spf 50, the anti aging one. It is very rich but I have really dry skin so this is a bonus! I also have the featherlight one from Beauty pie, also spf 50 & doubles up as a primer. It's really light & has a matte finish but smells strongly like aftershave & stings if it gets too close to my eyes.

Simple SPF30 Protect n Glow Radiance booster for the UK. Altruist SPF 50 for hotter climates
