Just that really! I’m a huge fan of both shops get all my cleaning products from there, just wondering which products people swear by

OP posts:

The 29p flapjack

Nanasueathome · 22/05/2021 15:52

Stardrops....anything from their range

Diggingaholeformyself · 22/05/2021 15:52

I've never been in to either store but I hate cleaning.

Do they sell beauty items or clothing?

DowntownFrown · 22/05/2021 15:56

Ive been really impressed with the niacinamide serum, I use it every morning mixed in with my LRP moisturiser. Also love the garnier banana hair mask for about £3. Will keep thinking as I’m sure there’s more.

Twinkleyrocks · 22/05/2021 15:56

They sell all the toiletries. In terms of clothing, you'll get socks, flip flops and some baby clothes.
I prefer HB to B&M personally. Our local HB stores are just much nicer and newer.
I absolutely love a trip to Home Bargains. If you have a dog they do an excellent lightweight 8quid dog bed which is handy to bring about the house or in the car if you're staying overnight.

Cocolapew · 22/05/2021 16:02

I seen online that HB are selling Real Techniques brushes for a couple of pounds.

Geordieoldgirl · 22/05/2021 16:08

I love HB too. Sadly there isn’t one near me, but I love a trip when I’m visiting family. If you’re after bargain cleaning stuff and toiletries Savers is fantastic. But go to a shop - my one and only online experience of them was absolutely terrible.

CompleteBarstool · 22/05/2021 16:11

Food-wise there are loads of good finds - can't remember specific prices or brands off the top of my head but I always stock up on things like cereal/energy bars, jars of jalapenos, big packs of Bombay mix, biscuits, packs of nuts (walnuts, almonds etc rather than salted!), chia seeds etc.

I also pick up things for student DD's box of goodies that we send her back to uni with after each trip home - small tins of sweetcorn, one person sized tins of tuna, packs of savoury rice, Thai curry kits.

In fact it's perfect if you have a DC off to Uni - we bought a lot of DD's kitchen and bedroom stuff from there - cheap but "current" IYSWIM

Has anyone else tried the imported Australian Cadbury’s chocolate from b and m? The marbled one and the banana one are my favourites. Husband likes the Neapolitan bar.

I bought a fuggler toy in HB recently. My priorities in life Grin

wouldntmindbeingmrsw · 22/05/2021 16:15

I love B&M. I can go in for a look and always come out with something I didn't know I needed.

Titterofwit · 22/05/2021 16:18

Love a trip to Home bargains. Not so fond of B&M now they have changed from random brands to well known brand names.

SappysCurry · 22/05/2021 16:19

They have VEVO villeroy & Boch serving ware in my local one atm it’s lovely.

SappysCurry · 22/05/2021 16:20

Mayflower curry sauce.

Makes great chicken curries, especially slow cooker, and great as part of a Chinese fakeaway.

Firstinlastout · 22/05/2021 16:42

How do you make the Mayflower curry in the slow cooker, someones mentioned it before but l Thankswasnt sure of the quantities.?

I agree. I used to love the complete randomness.
Livpool · 22/05/2021 17:30

HB sell Eos lip balms, which I love

Livpool · 22/05/2021 17:30

And the Garnier sheet masks

Rollerbird · 22/05/2021 20:05

The skinny coffee syrups for a pound

GuyFawkesDay · 22/05/2021 20:11

I love the cleaning bits. Pink stuff loo cleaner this week. Excell, if somewhat lurid. Got an apple blossom lenor or comfort (?) fabric conditioner this week and it's gorgeous.

Great for craft bits. I get lots of classroom supplies too. HB is a happy stationery hunting ground.

NeedWineNow · 23/05/2021 09:41

I love both Grin

I just make it up as directed to serve 2 adults and 2 children. The 'medium' spice is fine for my children; I just make sure I give them plenty of rice.

I'd fry the chicken off with a bit of onion, then add to the slow cooker with the made up sauce. I do 85g to 12floz cold water, whisk (don't stir) and microwave to desired consistency before adding. Chuck in some frozen peas as well then leave. I really like it and it's low calorie too.
