What would you wear as a bride in your 40’s?

DS is getting married low key in august - she isn’t on here but asked for options. They’ve been together forever and teen kids but decided to do it to sort finances (and probably because they can keep it small)
What would you chose to wear if you could do it again? She fancies white/cream/pastels as it’s summer but not long. Average height, pear shaped about a 14. Loves a heal and happy to be a bit different.

I hated my first wedding so for my 2nd I had the church the big dress and big bouquet I loved it, still have my wedding dress it will go in my coffin.

I love my husband dearly.

But I want to get married again so that I can have a different dress.

This! I think the problem is I never go to any social events posh enough to dress up. I miss it!

Go for what she wants - do t think about her age or whatever - whatever makes her feel special. I would definitely spend time looking for great shoes too

I think the posters who've shared pictures just go to illustrate lots of difference choice but they all rocked it

I would wear a very expensive designer suit (either trouser or skirt) in gold or cream. Go for elegance and stunning I say.

I haven’t RTFT but I’d suggest a Bombshell dress. They do lovely bridal versions.

Their boutique is wonderful and I found my perfect 50s tea length dress 😍. They also do long dresses. I felt amazing on our wedding day. The bright blue shoes made the outfit but they didn't last long - I can't wear heels 😂

@lightitup2 thanks! I found it really hard trying on dresses - I don't like my body. First trip - I was on Oxford Street and it was a very long and hot day. I realised then that I wanted a short dress for comfort and to dance the ceilidh. Then I booked to visit Fairy Goth Mother the following week and found my dream dress 😍.

@matnurse29 I have no idea why you would hate your body, you have a lovely figure!
It does show the confidence you can get from wearing the right outfit though, you look so happy and relaxed in the photo.

@matnurse29 wow you look fabulous. I only discovered Fairy Gothmother after I was married. I kinda wish I could do it all again just so I could have one of their dresses (I loved my wedding dress so no regrets) but I love a shorter dress with coloured shoes. The real bride photos on their website always look so beautiful they seem to be brilliant at matching ladies to the perfect dress.

I was totally relaxed on the day. We both were! Our guests kept commenting that it was the most chilled wedding they'd been to 😂😍. We were living in London at the time but got married in Perth. The hotel did all the setting up. All we had to do was show up 🙌🏽
