Would like a really nice Brereton stripe top but can't afford Boden

Would love a classic stripe top, with a boat neck like what Boden do but not their prices. Any ideas l?

Have you tried secondhand? I've just bought a Boden top on eBay, so you might find one.

Came on to say try eBay, best of all worlds when it comes to brands that you can't necessarily afford new and of course, better environmentally.

I assume you mean Breton (fishing region in France) rather than Brereton (small down at heel ex-mining village in Staffordshire)?

Second the idea of ebay. There are loads of nice things by seasalt, Boden, joules on there, often new.

I got a lovely one in Tesco a few years ago and it's still going strong! Exactly like the Boden one, lovely thick-ish fabric so it keeps it shape. I've not been in a store for a long time but as it's a fairly classic item they might still do them?

I have this one and would recommend as a good option, just make sure that you get at least your correct size as the arms are a bit tight, but otherwise it's a yes from me!

Uniqlo or joules. The latter often on eBay.
