Looking for some nice comfy trainers for the summer that I can wear with skinny jeans or leggings for long walks with the pram but won’t look like I’m in gym gear if we pop into a restaurant etc for lunch while out.

Usually live in Converse but my feet have changed since pregnancy and I don’t find them as comfy anymore!!

Not too fussy on price if the quality is good!! Give me your go-to comfy summer trainers 😊 Nothing black please 😊

Stan smiths.

Borka · 14/04/2021 14:39

Gola Harriers

Puffalicious · 14/04/2021 14:39

New Balance. I have my navy and white ones on now- feel like slippers. Similarly, Nike Cortez (I have gold and love them) are soooo comfy. Merrell also ate great.

Podiatrists recommend New Balance, so I hear.

Nike internationalists.

Sorry for long link. Not sure how to hyperlink on phone.

I love my new balance trainers and I'm really not a trainers person. They're like these www.newbalance.co.uk/women/shoes/lifestyle/classic-trainers/720/WL720V1-32421.html very light and not chunky looking.

KM38 · 14/04/2021 22:56

@Puffalicious I actually work in a shoe shop that sells Merrell and have quite a few pairs (hello 50% discount 😂). They’re a bit more outdoorsy than I’m looking for!!

New Balance have never suited my feet! Always found them uncomfy but I’ll maybe have another look now that my feet have changed!

Oooh discount. Amazing!

Check out New Balance again, mine really are so comfy. I also fancy a pair of Gola as PP suggested. I also have a brilliant black and yellow Puma pair. Can you tell I love trainers?Grin

Nike air force

Cocolapew · 14/04/2021 23:03

Nike reposto, Stan Smith.

KM38 · 15/04/2021 02:36

@Puffalicious I love trainers too! I’ve got my eye on a pair of Puma Cali but I can’t decide if the “chunky trainer” trend is for me 🤔 I know if I order them and I’m not sure then I’ll still keep them though because I’m horrid like that 😅😅 so I’m trying to hold off and see if I see something else that I love.

@Cocolapew I have a couple of pair of Stan Smiths 😊 love them too. Was just looking for something that felt a little bit smarter and less sporty of that makes sense 🤔

I e got some vejas which I love, they’re super comfy!

KM38 · 15/04/2021 09:14

@TheGirlWhoLived I have had my eye on Vejas but wasn’t sure if they were decent or just “the in thing” but I’ll have a wee look now 😊

I do also love converse though, so I may have flat feet? Stan smiths are my go too- I use the white ones for smarter trainers. Then I have some really pretty rose gold and white vejas esplar - I prefer the esplar because the sole is better for me!

PurpleDaisies · 15/04/2021 14:32

Vejas aren’t comfy at all. Converse suit me though so I guess everyone’s different.

I have a pair of Stan smiths which I love. Also a pair what’s essentially an ASICS version of nike internationalist black trainers which are amazingly comfortable and versatile. It sounds like that style is more sporty than you’d like though.

KM38 · 15/04/2021 14:54

@PurpleDaisies @TheGirlWhoLived I still love my converse...but before I could wear them all day for weeks at a time and have no issue and now I do a long walk and I can feel my feet aching 😅 so figured it might be time for something a bit more sensible but also nice! I’m sure I’ll come across something 😅

I love my Nike AF1s, Not 100 waterproof but are built to last.

Gemma2019 · 15/04/2021 15:17

My favourites at the moment are Kurt Geiger London Lane trainers, I have both the rainbow and the gold stripe ones and they go with everything and are unbelievably comfortable.

Puffalicious · 15/04/2021 17:21

Just thought, sounds very middle aged but I have a pair of Ecco trainers and they are amazing. Actually cool looking and very comfy and good quality. Picked them up in TKMAXX- bargain! Might be worth a thought.

harknesswitch · 15/04/2021 17:29

Ecco

MargosKaftan · 15/04/2021 18:00

I have some veja ones, but with the velcro fastening. Apart from the fact my dcs keep asking if they are toddler shoes - where one of the velcro strap sits is where my feet would naturally add a crease in shoes, bur cant due to the strap being there, so they crease in a slightly different place and that digs in.

I have some joules trainers that are very comfy but mumsy, and some new balance ones that rubbed on my heel to start with but are now super comfy.

I've found addidas gazelles more comfortable than stan smiths in the past, but that could just be my foot shape.

I find converse hard to wear for any length of time too, which is a shame as I think they look lovely with a dress for inbetween weather.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 15/04/2021 18:28

I think you have to find the right trainer brand for your feet. Mine is Adidas. I rotate between Stan smiths, Ozweegos and another called Yung-1. From everything I’ve read about vejas they won’t be comfy for me so I won’t try them.

thenameshastings · 15/04/2021 18:32

Are all Veja styles uncomfortable? They have some that look like they have a more cushiony sole
