The best eyeliner money can buy?

I've mostly been wearing Mac Teddy for a few years, but seem to suddenly have fallen out of love with it. I'm after a soft brown, that goes on a bit smudgy but then doesn't move too much during the day. Also maybe a grey or a khaki.

Where should I be looking? Before my Mac conversion, I used Clinique.

I generally repeat buy Bobbi Brown eyeliner but currently using one by NYX - cheap as chips but it's one of the best I've used - easy to apply and stays on. The colour I use mostly is Gun Metal (grey)

Urban Decay Stash.

A nice sludgy khaki, goes on beautifully and doesn’t budge.

Alwaystheplusone · 28/03/2021 15:54

Kiko Milano Intense Colour Eyeliner is amazing. Quite soft so can be blended. Stays put. Bit of a bugger to sharpen though.

@DustySpringboard
Would love a link, tia

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 28/03/2021 15:56

Thanks for these.

I used to be a big Urban Decay lover, but in the end stopped buying because they seemed to need sharpening after ever use, so never seemed to last very long.

Hoping for something I can order from John Lewis.

Here you go @Fortunefavours1 NYX eye pencil

This Clinique eyepencil was recommended on another thread a few days ago

Toottoot20202 · 28/03/2021 16:05

I’ve heard really good things about the Victoria Beckham Kajal pencils in terms of smudge ability and staying power. Am planning to try the bronze one

Clumpyshoes · 28/03/2021 16:07

Stila Stay all day is the best I've found but I'm not sure how smudgy it is.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 28/03/2021 16:12

Thanks again.

Dusty - those are the ones I used to use, pre-Mac.

I’ve used loads at all price points and genuinely the best I’ve ever found are Avon Glimmersticks. They’re very fine, exactly the right texture and come in loads of colours. The icing on the cake is that they’re really, really cheap.

W3dontdoduvets · 28/03/2021 16:18

Urban decay 24/7 eye pencils. I have smog and another goldy colour. Both great.

MooMinCow · 28/03/2021 16:19

Try these Kiko ones. They twist up (no sharpening or waste) come in loads of colours and have a smudger attached. Come in some unusual shades!

If you want to try those - they’re not bad - buy them from Amazon where they’re £1.50 cheaper and you don’t have to pay Kiko’s extortionate postal charges
MooMinCow · 28/03/2021 16:27

I didn’t know they sold on Amazon - thanks!

I usually get mine whenever I’m in Birmingham as they have two stores there and usually have offers/sales on so stock up!

Alsohuman · 28/03/2021 16:31

You’re welcome. My favourite eyeshadow of all time is Kiko but I balked at paying £6 postage while the shops are closed! You can imagine my joy when I found it on Amazon.

DrMaryMalone · 28/03/2021 16:37

Along the same lines as Avon with these but I have found them fab...I've got in black, green, grey and a discontinued purple so can't recommend a brown but there are a couple to chose from:

I know MLM gets a bad rep on MN so please don't shoot me!

@Toottoot20202 I use the VB satin Kajal and I use the Ash one, a slate grey and yes I can confirm they are fab. Really soft and smudgy.

Postage is ridiculously expensive at £5 but sometimes there is free postage (often over a bank holiday weekend) but for some unknown reason it gets shipped from the US.

Cult Beauty does sell them though and they have free postage. You can get the bronze one from there, but don’t think Ash is available on CB yet. But yes, they are great and well worth it. I also have one of VB’s lipsticks and liner and they are also gorgeous.

seatofmars · 28/03/2021 20:51

Permanent eyeliner Blush. I'm very low-maintenance / down to earth but I'll never regret my very thin line of permanent eyeliner (bottom and top). Had it five years ago, and it's just enough to allow me to go out without any make-up and not look like an underdeveloped rabbit foetus (all in my head, of course!) Grin.

MrsBDarcy · 28/03/2021 21:11

Stila here. Doesn't shift. The Avon are good but wear off pretty fast. I found the Stila (I got it in m and a box) to be a surprise dream to use

QueenOfTheDoubleWide · 28/03/2021 21:16

I bought a set of 4 eye crayons and 4 eye liners from QVC which are all good, brand is Mally. The eye liners are smudgy but then set fast
