I've mostly been wearing Mac Teddy for a few years, but seem to suddenly have fallen out of love with it. I'm after a soft brown, that goes on a bit smudgy but then doesn't move too much during the day. Also maybe a grey or a khaki.

Where should I be looking? Before my Mac conversion, I used Clinique.

Thanks, all. Still hoping to find one in John Lewis. Might try the Clinique again.

I have a Sisley one from JL. Expensive but good!

@Alsohuman

I’ve used loads at all price points and genuinely the best I’ve ever found are Avon Glimmersticks. They’re very fine, exactly the right texture and come in loads of colours. The icing on the cake is that they’re really, really cheap.
This!
RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 30/03/2021 19:31

Oh my god to the price of the Sisley one!!! I think I need a little lie down.

Elizabeth Arden. Comes with a smudge and tiny weeny sharpener for push up thin crayon pencil. You need a good eye primer first like Too Faced or Smash Box, then a very very thin touch of ultra light finishing powder ( No 7 translucent)makes all the difference keeping it on all day.

I find the VB kajal lovely and pigmented but a bit too smudgy for an everyday look, lovely at night. I repeat buy Marc Jacobs gel eyeliner in brown out (dark brown) and Rococo (mid brown). It’s smudgeable when applied but sets well. No sharpening either, just twist it out which is a major bonus IMO.

I’ve got three MJ eyeliners, they’re good. Not as good as Glimmersticks though.

Mac's Stubborn Brown powerpoint pencil is a soft brown that goes on easily and is a bit smudgy looking. John Lewis weren't stocking it the last time I wanted one, so I got the standard pencil in Coffee, but it's much harder and not nearly as easy to apply.

MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously · 31/03/2021 09:45

For grey, I still love the Rimmel soft kohl pencil. I try others but always come back to that one.

Loreal lasting drama.

Onedropbeat · 31/03/2021 09:47

Victoria Beckham eyeliner is very good

Rina66 · 31/03/2021 23:28

Benefit Bad Gal do a 24 hour wear brown eye pencil with a smudger on the end - also comes in black, navy and plum, I've got them all, beautiful colours, blend brilliantly and last all day. I get mine from John Lewis.

fingerscrossed4this · 31/03/2021 23:45

Bobbi Brown eye liner gel. You'll need an eyeliner brush but it's the bees knees. It lasts forever and the pot goes a long way! https://www.johnlewis.com/bobbi-brown-long-wear-gel-eye-liner/sepia-ink/p37400?tmad=c&tmcampid=7&sshare=jlappioss_Y29tLmFwcGxlLlVJS2l0LmFjdGl2aXR5LkNvcHlUb1Bhc3RlYm9hcmQ=

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 01/04/2021 16:27

Thanks all. Might look at the Benefit. I definitely want a pencil not a pot.

The Victoria Beckham one is brilliant. Slides on and really easy to use.

lindyloo57 · 06/04/2021 17:58

Just brought the wetnwild megalast retractable eye liner , and it beats all my other ones buy miles, I can't believe how well it lasted on my oily eyes, its better than my estee lauder double wear, avon glimmer stick, stilla, rimmel, nyx, revlon, no7. and many more. The other good one if you like a liquid one is a mac liquid last 24 hours, which was also mentioned on here.

GeorgeTheFirst · 06/04/2021 18:01

The Clinique twist up ones don't last very long. There's only a couple of inches of eyeliner inside that great long pencil container

Uhohmummy · 06/04/2021 18:29

I love Mac Teddy and also the Prunella shade. Another favourite is the Clinique Cream Shaper in Egyptian and Starry Plum. Egyptian looks amazing on hazel/green eyes. Also Bobbi Brown eyeliner in Mahogany. I’ve tried loads of eyeliners over the years these are the only ones I use now.

This. I've tried other more expensive ones but always come back to Rimmel and it's a good price too

Victoria Beckham kajal - best eye liners ever.

PickleChipsareyummy · 07/04/2021 13:29

OP the best eyeliners around are Charlotte Tilbury Rock n’Kohl eyeliners. They are expensive but very worth it for me. I use Midnight blue but my sis uses Barbarella Brown and it always looks gorgeous.

CT also does Eyecheat which is a light cream colour to apply to lower waterline. Makes eyes look massive.

I always wear eyeliner, have done since I was a teen and feel naked without it. I was away with work once and managed to leave my eyeliner at home. I used eyeshadow instead, thankfully one of my brushes has an eyeliner brush at the opposite end of the eyeshadow brush, and I've not looked back. I just use a slightly darker eyeshadow under the eye than whatever I'm wearing on my lid; or black on its own; or black softened with the lid colour.
